  • I have just opened all of the letters....about a forests worth and the demands are from 3 different companies, Lowell, Hamptons and mackenzie hall.

They are all after the same money and all dated quite recently?

    LBM 10/08 £12510.74/
  • Money for friends £2000? !!!!!!..

    Sorry, a bit shocked
  • Umm, I split from a partner and being born with defective genes in the brain had no money saved - deposit, new furniture........i had bought it all with her - did not see the split coming..........great fun!
  • The £2000 is the problem, not much else.

Would be helpful if you told us why it is this figure and what it's for?

Saw your thread tittle and thaught you called for me

I thought that he was calling for you too :rotfl:

Don't worry Harry. Once you sit down and face up to it, it's usually not as bad as you think! Earlier this year I was getting in a big muddle and not opening letters and stuff and when I finally sorted out my paperwork i owed £1000 less than i was imagining...of course, now I do owe that extra £1000 (numpty monkey is not the only numpty around here!) but that's a different story!

So good luck with your SOA. Find out all your APR%'s on cards and loans etc and when everything is posted no doubt you will get a million money saving, debt busting tips from everyone! :)

Are you saying this £2000 is paying back friends for a loan?
    LBM 10/08 £12510.74/
  • Thanks Numpty Monkey,

My rent is £400 all inclusive of rates etc, I have only had the phone for 3 months, groceries - I agree I can cut that down substantially, I have enough clothes, entertainment will be easy to cut, I have just ben looking at prepay certs for prescriptions - will get one when paid, birthdays etc I can do away with for a while.

The problem with the amounts owed is that they are now in the hands of what appear to be debt collection agencies and I have not as yet made a plan of what to do so the repayments are a little sketchy.........

Money to friends was a matter of need as opposed to want, some very difficult situations arose and I had no back up plan.
