Heir_2_Hesjane wrote:No - apple put ZML next to alot of their orders. Its just that when the move from an acknowledgement to a confimation they shorten the item description and often add ZML. Not too sure what it means, but you should see the full description in the Acknowledgement and then the shortened version in the Confirmation. Important thing is that the product numbers are the same.
Apologies for self-quoting, but as a followup, I've looked through the list of my recent orders from Apple (I order A LOT of stuff from these guys!) and they ALWAYS add a 3 letter code to the end of their orders. I've been looking around to see what it relates to but I can't find it. Oh, and I have ZML on orders that I've recieved in the past.... they're always standalone items that are not Apple's own make (as opposed to computers, ipods, etc).Truly great madness can not be achieved without significant intelligence0 -
thanks dude0

And the specs say built-in flash(jessops and Apple) And the memory card ain't a problem, most of us have a compactflash card hanging around.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Is it compact flash as their cheaper ranges rely on XD?

Ordered 2 at 17.45 and got 1st email and then 2nd order confirmation email at 18.20.
The T&C state clearly that once an order confirmation has been sent they are obliged to supply unless they are unable to source the items. There are plenty available in the market so I dont see them getting away with that. As I am a lawyer I regard myself as qualified to express a view on this (see next post !!).
Should I have ordered more ?????????? Presumably Ebay will be flooded with them !

Glad to see all the pocket lawyers are out again quoting this law and that law which most if not all of them will have absolutely no understanding of...something I don't pretend to know myself!!
Why don't we sit back, see what happens and if the worst comes to the worst, we get a refund in a couple of days time. But it has been amusing watching this thread today so that was worth it alone!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
I placed an order at about 5.30pm and both emails have come through, but dispatch date is set for tomorrow
I reckon ones ordered earlier today will be on the way already
later orders have to hope that they don't do a sweep of orders tonight and make everything disappear
I am on a slightly sticky wicket if they contact me because i am not a student, but I bought one as a gift for a student, with her delivery details. It is all veyr odd, let's hope a few have sneaked through and at least the people who found this brilliant offer get their cameras.
Incidentally - I very much doubt that they would have had thousands of these babies in stock at one time so it will be the early birds who might get warehouse stock and the rest wait for further deliveries - and time for the orders to be cancelled.
But having said all that - surely a company like apple would have a built in stock control system whereby they would tell you of impending delays due to being out of stock. I cannot believe they would issue me with a dispatch day of tomorrow if they don;t have the stock there - that would be ridiculous considering even the most basic online retailers can tell you if they have your product.
The alternative of course is that Apple UK bought a job lot of several thousand end of line cameras to flog off on the cheap - or even that the manufacturer wanted exposure to genuine students who need photography - much like Microsoft discounting software for students. It might be these are discontinued products as of 1st January and Apple UK got the last container load.0 -
i think there all gone now,:-(if i had known then what i know now0

20000 views i cant see Apple giving away almost £2000000 :snow_laug
They dont exactly have a glowing reputation for CS so will probably fob everyone off with the misprice email just as happened with the cheap laptop.0
