I got bored part way through, and asked for my money back. I am still waiting for it, plus a response to my letter which cited 'clumsy, outdated and inefficient processes and inept customer service' as my reason. I am expecting a long wait. Thank goodness I only sent £100. I wish I had just sent £1, then I would probably just have written it off.

Well getting nowhere fast, tried the 1st number and got through to a guy who put me in to a queue for Customer Services where I waited...and waited....and eventually hung up. Then tried the 0800 number again, where its constantly engaged, but then it did start to ring, and again no one picked up. So was about to try the 2nd number Anna provided whan I saw this....

and as they are obviously still getting through the backlog I thought it pointless sitting on the phone any longer and I'll wait another week. Shame as I wanted to get this sorted before I go back to work. Will of course keep you posted if there are any developments!
  • This account should be avoided due to the stupidity of them requiring a cheque to be sent.

It's an internet bank you tesco morons, take transfers, it's not rocket science and how most people are going to fund it in the future anyway.

I didn't bother setting it up thanks to this requirement and the lack of a cheque book.
Seeems like a good choice now huh.

Just setupo a savings account with Halifax, got the account number right after sign up and password in the post (which was irritating) 3 days later.

  • I am also having problems setting up a Tesco account - taken 1.5 months so far, chq went through a while back, got code, managed to set up customer number (you need to do this online) but have sent back 2 signatures letters and say they haven't recieved either of them so I can't log in; very concerning.

And you haven't got to the part yet when you want to set up a payee so you can withdraw funds....
You need an internet banking Card...
And a card reader which you need to order...
Get it on the go, you order it as soon as you can access your account online, it'll take another couple of weeks in the post... and its getting near Christmas post slow down.

Their CS were doing transfers out over the phone, but weren't offering - you have to insist.
