Afternoon all!
Happy birthday SisterCas!
Busy day whizzing around today, pleased to find flour still at 33p still in Morrisons, and chick peas for 18p a can! Think I've finished my rounds of stocking up on essentials for a bit now!
Bond film was okay last night, no funny bits like the old Bond films, and sadly no scenes of Daniel Craig appearing from the water in his shorts this time lol!
OS wise, other than buying in supplies, I've done dw, wm, bm and yoghurt, swished and swiped the kitchen and hoovered, and put away clothes that were washed yesterday.
Baked pots and pizza for dinner for kids, mine will be a hm ready meal from the freezer taken to work with me.
Have a good evening all, hope to catch up tomorrow xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Afternoon all.
Happy Birthday Sistercas:bdaycake:
Diva, I had to Google "pinata" as I'd never heard of them before:rolleyes:
Tired today, as we had a busy weekend. Had to go into Central MK Saturday to make an appointment with the optician. I have made up my mind I am NOT going there on a Saturday again til Xmas is over. The crowds were horrendous; and believe me, it's no fun in a wheelchair, as you're more or less at everyone else's crotch level:eek:
Sunday we went on a rare trip to Tesco's, but we went as soon as they were open, so not too bad. Mr LW was a bit nonplussed when I put Value brandy in the trolley, til I pointed out it was for cooking, and no way am I buying Corvoisier to put in a cake!
Mr LW is w*rking from home today, so we've had the customary Shepherd Spy for lunch, and ther's enough left for tomorrow. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Just a quicky - had a PM from MSE Wendy to say I've been picked for one of the LoveFoodHateWaste lunch kits
And I was picked out of the hat at work for 2 free tickets to an attraction in town (Carnesky's Ghost Train) too! Things come in three's don't they - wonder if ERNIE has picked my numbers out...
LW - our Mr T's had no value brandy left so had to upgrade to T's own brand at £7.99....still, it went into 2 cakes, 2 puddings and will be sloshed into numerous mugs of hot chocolate this winter
TiredMum - what on earth is sweetcorn icecream???
Love to all, hugs to Taplady & MSD's friends & PenPin
Floss x0 -
What a carp day
hope its better tomorrow.
Been out shopping, it looks like MrM's in here with all Mum and MIL's stuff around, and my freezer must be made of elastic,
Popped in to Argos to pick up a sweet shop to go towards DGD2's christmas pressy, not sure what DGD1 is having yet, but have already bought some jim-jams, socks, a Winnie-the-Pooh Torch, a couple of books, and a jigsaw, each just need to get them some clothes and thats it.
If I do have time I think I'll do them an Aran cardi or jumper each.
MIL's patchwork quilt is out of the WM, how on earth am I going to get it dryits huge, washed up lovely though. Her sheets are in the TD but I dont think that will go in.
Was going to have beef stew for Dinner but have now split it and put it in plastic boxes for the 2 mums. We will have a pasta bake I've got a few in the freezer I did last week.
Hey Floss go get a lottery ticket, you never know you just might do itSomeone else had a win last week, I think it was N9eav. Not millions, but a win's a win however much it is, and these days all is welcome
Sunnyday ooo clever you mending the strimmer :T

Hi everyone!
For my OS day today I went to MrT's and picked up some scallop kebabs reduced to clear 50p!! Then thought I'd treat myself to one of those Cath Kidston Bags - and got 20% off in the clothing sale!! so only £2.80!:j
Came home to a lovely cuppa and slice of Jamie Oliver's Lemon Drizzle cake with the poppy seeds! It's the only time I use poppy seeds but I must say it is does go well in the cake! yumyou just have to remember to check your teeth before you go back out again, so you dont have black bits!:rotfl:
DD went to school in her pyjamas today in aid of Children in Need, as they weren't in school friday (teacher training), and DS did a sponsored spelling test, haven't been told the results yet!
Picked up DS1 from Gatwick, he took ages waiting for his baggage, and the plane was so far away from the Terminal - but he did fly SleazyJet, so what do you expect!:rotfl: apart from that he had a great time in Sharm El Sheikh, cant wait to see the pics! I got him a lovely Digital Picture Frame in Asda for xmas, but I think he might like to have it before to view all his pics on!
It's so good I quite fancy one myself!
Managed to watch "Strictly" before going to bed, see John Sargent is still in!!:rotfl: Got to try and watch I'm a Celebrity now before tonites episode!
Happy Birthday sistercas!!
Have a good evening all xx0 -
Hello everyone,
Im afraid i havnt read the thread for over a week, or today, so i hope everyone is well.
Has Penny Pincher come out of hospital yet? I do hope all went well and she is ok!
Nothing much has been happening here - my Nan had a wonderful 100th birthday - thank you (belatedly) for all the wonderful wishes you sent her - she is looking so frail now, but i was so pleased we could go and see her. Im hoping that we will be able to go and visit again after Christmas, and maybe spend the whole day - i think she was overwhelmed on the day with so many family and friends being there. All her children were there (including the 2 who now live in Canada) and some of my Canadian cousins had flown in as well, which was lovely as i havnt seen them in, well some of them 20 + years!!!
Ive had so much bad money news recently (the car going wrong, WM, hoover and oven all breaking down as well) and what with Christmas too, its not been easy to keep positive - but one of the mums of a LO i used to look after has found a new job, so he is back!! Has come exactly at the right time, its only part time, but its better than nothing and i def need all the help with my credit card at the moment, the bashing it has taken recently!!
So, my car is now running smoothly, and i have a lovely new WM (A+ rating) hoover and oven (another A rating) all bought at sale prices (although still more than i could/shouldve spent) and as i had the oven fitted yesterday i can now jump back into OS and start my home baking again, although my oven is so lovely and clean, im not really wanting to use it!! The only thing i have used it for was the Christmas cake - i make one every year, even tho DS is the only one who likes it, but i love Christmas so much, it is a bit of a tradition (the children and i will spend an evening making marzipan decorations once its all marzipanned and iced!) and it has been so annoying not having an oven to make it in.
I mightve had another nice win, ive had an email saying ive won a Wii!!! They did say it was coming recorded delivery, and its not arrived yet, so im not going to get excited until it gets here, but if i have won one, im going to be over the moon!! I did win one last year (saved last Christmas for us) so i would sell this one, but with the money i would like to buy a Wii fit, something i cant afford to buy at the moment, and will help make this Chrstmas special as well, as the children would love one!
Cant think of anything else that has been happening here - i need to go and check all the things ive bought for Christmas upstairs in a minute (im apologising to you all now, im incredibly organised this time of the year, when my decorations go up on the 30th November, i will be ready for Christmas, all cards written, presents bought and to be honest, all the Christmas food that can be bought in advance will have been bought too!!) i think i have most things im planning on getting but need to go through it to see what i have.
OS today, ive made bread in the BM, and we have had 'freezer surprise' for dinner - ended up being beef stew, chicken curry and a portion of spag bol (all HM and the left overs frozen) - so we all had some of each and to be honest, it was lovely!!! Tomorrow im attempting HM faggots for the first time, along with some baking.
Well, ive drivelled on long enough now - i hope everyone has a lovely evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
