Twink - that's great news about PenPin!
Pippa - DH declared that he wanted a 'proper' Victoria sponge - after I'd made flapjacks and sultana cakes - so I said 'You want it, you make it!' and he did! Of course, he needed supervision and guidance but it turned out lovely, although I had to laugh when he spread the buttercream on using his plastering skills and then, when the two halves were sandwiched together, he went round the edge of the filling like it was Painter's Mate!
Well, I've just had the quickest sandwich and I'm back off to work - very busy today as I remember Mondays always were!

Afternoon all,
Bargainbird, I am only so busy today cos I did b****r all yesterday due to a [STRIKE]hangover[/STRIKE] unexpected illness.
Squiggly I did see the message re the shop thanks xx
One bed stripped, changed, and washed, on the airer as its raining, , hoovered through, mopped floors, online shop done, cookies made, veg done for dinner and veg peeling soup made, phew going to have a hot bath in a while as its really cold here, just need to wash up my cooking bits first.
Did not go to kwikfit as they do not top up coolant, so went to a local garage and they did it for free for me :T , will go there for my mot next year.
Kathy :rotfl: :rotfl: at your hubbie with the cake, when ever mine cooks something we have to congratulate him and tell him how good it was for weeks after :rotfl: he once said his chilli was the best he had ever tasted, guess who taught him to cook it.
Any way better go and wash the pots, have fun xx0 -
Afternoon peeps,
well it`s raining and freezing here now so i`ve given up in the garden for today but i shall pop back down to the green house again when i`ve warmed up. I`ve picked lots of salad bits and pieces and made a pile of sandwiches for the next couple of days with it all. Just lettuce and some herbs down there now but there are pepper plants and some cauli and cabbage that need potting up too.
For everyone who likes peanut butter Wilkinsons sell the Sun Pat peanut butter for just 79p Mr Sunny loves it and we always buy peanut butter sugar and cup a soups from there.
I`m off to take the lamb that i cooked earlier off the bone and maybe do some more baking.
Sistercas - i can count the times that i`ve been to Meadowhell on one hand, i hate it as it always seems so overcrowded. I do like the smaller out of town shopping centres though. Drakehouse and Crystal Peaks are my favourites.
See you all later.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Hello all
Had mixed weekend. Good:- got out into the Dales for a short walk (couple of miles). Very pleasant and need the exercise - helps my MS I'm sure.
Then Sunday evening went to listen / see Colin Dexter at M/cr's Library Theatre. Brilliant.
Less good: found out a former colleague had died after a two-year struggle against bowel cancer. He was only 40.
Today the weather is cold, grey, misty, drizzly but it's one of penninewoman's days off today so we're got a great meal in the oven - in fact the timer's just beeping now. It's a simple meal - just a couple of chicken fillets from local butcher done in roasting tin with chunked onions and potatoes with a light drizzling of olive oil and various dried herbs.
Excellent. Going to eat it now. Either a late lunch or an early tea I guess.
Enjoy the day everyone.Where now?0 -
