happy birthday Sistercas - I'm much older than you at 39 again again again :)

BargainBird - I'm exhausted reading all that.

w*rk today - just checked that I'm not on reception first thing as I've just smashed a jar of coffee all over the place and wanted to do a proper clean up rather than leave it for everyone else to tread through before I get back in - no they wouldn't think to clear it up themselves don't be daft.

out tonight for a pub meal with a few mates - going out on a work night is totally outside of my comfort zone but it will be fun - tea tonight will be something yummy from the posh pub - and for the dds - whatever the eldest can scrabble together.
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

  • Morning darlings!

I just woke up so am a bit blurry eyed!!yawn2.gif

Ohh we had the most delicious sunday dinner yesterday. I really thought my other half would be too tired but he nipped to morrisons while I was pinata-ing and came back with a lovely free range chicken so we invited the lodger to join us and all had a fabulous dinner.

Tonight I think maybe something chickeny with the left overs - have to go peruse the recipes on here for inspiration I think.

Charlies_mum - editing or not, I met Kilroy-silk once and under the smarmy charm there beats the heart of a real old fashioned male chauvenist...lol
Reformed - I have never looked up hopw to make a pinata, but I bet there is info somewhere, I just planned it in my head and went from there 3 yrs ago. Would love to make a little business out of it, but like my card making, I have no idea how to go about it...lol
Shez - my heart sinks when people start putting up decorations this early...
bargainbird - Abbaella sounds absolutely fab!
Lesley - I am sooooooo with you on your comments on Rachel and Daniel...

The official line on Tristans prostrate cancer is that he has a maximum of six months but I refuse to believe that and he is determined it will be longer. I did a couple of hours chatting to him last night (his afternoon) and then did some online research and sent him some links about diet and supplements that people think have helped.. Thank you all for your hugs and good wishes, they are very much appreciated.

Just about finished the pinata - which is great as I have to deliver it later today. Am about to go stuff it full of lil toys and choccys. Saddest thing is that I won't be able to see them enjoy it.

Hope everyone has a great day.

  • Hi everyone and good morning.

New to the forums and I love this thread. Sort of like having a coffee with friends. It's cold and damp here today. We still haven't used the heat though this year. :j

I've cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom as I pulled a lazy night after tea last evening. My partner and I live in a tiny flat so it doesn't take too long to clean up in there.

Have a bit of tidying and cleaning the bathroom to do today. Then a wee bit of ironing to do and to slip out to get some more milk. Otherwise not too much chore wise.

I roasted a chicken yesterday for dinner so I have leftovers to make a couple of dishes from. Think I'll do chicken, veg and gravy to serve in yorkshire puddings. Then take the leftover meat and bones and make the base for soup. I'll probably add some veg and rice to it so it's hearty and filling. Hopefully I'll have a bit extra to put in containers for OH's lunch this week. If not, at least we'll get 3 good meals out of the chicken.

I baked some jacket potatoes while the roast was cooking yesterday. Going to make twice baked potatoes with them for dinner tonight. Not sure of the toppings yet probably tuna and cheese or beans and cheese. I need to make some more cookie dough up today as OH loves his cookies and so do I. Oatmeal raisin and choc chip I think.

You all are inspiring me to try making HM bread again. Don't know what I do wrong but it always comes out yucky!

:bdaycake:A very happy birthday to sistercas. :bdaycake:

Charliesmum, I love it when someone says that a coat, blouse etc looks great then asks where I got it. I just smile and say at a table top, fayre etc and I only paid 50p for it. The look of astonishment because I got it so inexpensively is priceless! :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day, despite the weather.

    Hi Peeps

good news - i`ve fixed the strimmer :j i went down to the shed as soon as it got light and had a good poke around it, i ended up taking it into the greenhouse as it started to rain whilst i was out there. I can now use it - when it`s dry  actually the wind is getting up a bit so maybe if it doesn`t rain again i can get the front lawn done.

The rolls are baked and as the weather had turned i made a cake and sorted out some old boxes and ripped them up for the recycling, i`ve decided to spend 15 minutes every day throwing things out, i`m a sod for saving the boxes that things come in just in case the item needs to go back or until the guarantee ends so we have lots of them hidden all over the place :o

The kitchen needs a bit of a tidy again now as i made Mr Sunny kippers with lovely hot buttered toast before he left fo w*rk so i shall do that and then go out into the garden with my secateurs. Mr A delivered not long ago and everything that can fit into the kitchen has been put in there but i have some bulk items to hide upstairs but they can wait a while.

Sistercas - Happy Birthday, enjoy Meadowhell :bdaycake:

Aussie - I`d love an axe :D DH has been promising to take out a tree stump all summer and it`s still waiting to be done, i`ve borrowed a machete type thingy from my Dsis but i don`t think that it will be heavy enough.

Dazi - I hope that the boiler man fixes your water today, i hate not having any when the weather is colder especially.

Squiddly - I saw the end of yesterdays thread, i hope that you get a Wilkinsons soon, i get a lot of my toiletries from there as most of the branded things are cheaper than the supermarket. The household bargains are great too.

Welcome to the daily Justpeyton4now, your are so right, lovelythread and like having a coffee with friends :D

Right i`m off to get some more things done so i`ll catch you all later.

    Have a good afternoon peeps.

Afternoon. Had no computer this morning as it has gone off for a major service. I hate laptops, can't seem to hit the keys.
So when I get it back, It will not doubt have nothing much on it, but at least the rubbish will have gone. My pics and documents are being saved anyway.

Went to Tesco this morning, they seem awfully expensive. ASDA from now on. Cheapest peanut butter in tesco £2.12. No own brands, nothing. Fuel is still expensive. £50 in the tank and it did not fill it!

Day off, so loafing about at home. Need to get out in the garden, but can't be bothered. OH missed a supply day today in a school 1 mile away. Called in too late. . If you don't call in they don't call you.....

Well better go do somthing constructive
