  • GRRRRRRRRRRRR! BT's I.T. Support and I have just spent most of the afternoon trying to eliminate a virus from DH's office PC without success. This is a nasty one, folks - you get a popup which really looks at first glance as being from Windows, telling you that your PC is under threat and that you need to download the appropriate antivirus. Now evn if you close the little balloon, the bl***y thing still installs itself, drops an icon onto the desktop (it says AntiVirusPro 2009) and if you try to uninstall it, the virus simply imbeds itself further in the PC:mad:

And the object of this???? Basically, they hold you PC to ransom and then ask you to buy the software to fix it!!!!

DH picked this up surfing to source an shotblasting cabinet for the company

So now I have a lovely Scots guy from Inverness working on the PC remotely and we'll see whether he can get rid of the virus!
Obedient women are never remembered in History!

  • I'm an alright Mum - no hope of aiming any higher and as the kids are always telling me I'm a dreadful parent I feel I'm doing an ok job.

Ah, you see Dusty, that's the secret... If the kids tell you your a dreadful parent, then you know you're doing it right...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am adding to my list have 5 minutes bawling my eyes out for absolutely no apparent reason... and then 5 minutes pasting on the slap to cover up red puffy eyes and a red runny nose..

I may need to offload while blubbering so please ignore me and let me ramble.. then I do not want sympathy I want a slap in the head anad to be told I do feel better now.. even if I look like death.. and a dose of 'get a grip' would be welcome.

Right, no sympathy, but... you are not a bad mum - we all wonder why our kids do what they do, but it is not down to us, it is down to them, especially at your DS1's age - they start making the decisions in their lives from an early age now, and most of what he does is probably from his friends, not from you - I speak from experience here!!!!

I don't blame you not wanting to go up the school - I hate confrontation, but must admit am also hot headed and would probably flare up in the same way you would - not good and something to avoid - can one of the older ones go collect, or will another mother bring them out to you? (no good for today, but maybe tomorrow) Personally I don't think she will say any more, didn't get any joy last time so probably won't bother...

Now, you go get a grip by playing with your DD3 and her umberella in the shower and get all your other kids to join in too - go have fun, realise that you ARE a good mum and enjoy them before they get old enough to turn into teenagers - to hell with everything else until you feel better... Oh, and have a cuppa too...:D Hugs Pigpen, take care...

Pigpen is not allowed to loose it, she is the voice of reason in this mad world.

And also I would be inclined to smash her face in and then say 'and yeah, this is where he gets it from, what you gonna do about it eh?' but I have gotten more violent and confrontational in recent months (Pigpens influence I think and I see nowt wrong with it, some folk in this world do need a good smack every now and again).

But seriusly, Pigpen you know she is going to turn into a little slapper and the mother is so below you it's funny.

  • Ooooh - i'm having fun shopping. :D I've just bought something for my pa and another pressie for DS1, i think i need to get some extra bits for DS2 though really. I only realised yesterday when you lot were discussing it that DS1 will be old enough to get excited by a xmas stocking this year. Maybe he won't understand the hanging it up bit, but he will certainly like opening it in bed. :j

I think xmas mania has hit me. :rotfl:

I forgot to mention to you lot yesterday, i was tidying up toys with DS1 last night, and he got my purse on the coffee table, and put it by the computer. Do you think the boy knows that is where it mostly gets used. :D

I've pretty much finished my Christmas shopping...its a very 'quiet' Christmas as far as presents are concerned...not that I usually go crazy!
  • Glad you're on my team:D

i can't afford to go as mad as lil-me at wilkos last year but we'll see how we go. i can be quite competitive ;)

johanne it's a shame she doesn't see that allowing him to move in would probably help. Giving you both time and space. My DP eventually moved out when we had problems and it made him really realise what he'd lost, for the time he was under the same roof he didn't care as had the best of both worlds. I didn't let him move back in for a long time but I believe it was a good decision.

Johanne, would she listen to you instead of DF? Maybe if you put it to her (speak to those welfare people first that Lil_me mentioned before so you have all your figures) she might understand more? may not work, but you never know...

Lil_me - you always have such great advice and help for people...:T
