    Helloooooo

Got an hours dinner break before going back to work, had a sarnie and now I'm wondering whether to attack the list now instead of after work  I could do it now then have free time then, OR I can get teenie to do it but it wont be done to level 3 which is what I want....I don't really want to do it now but it would be good use of time and I'd be grateful when I got in. Buggarit....I'll do it now Yes?:D *ummms and arrs some more*

Serena glad everything went ok at the hossy.
Mudders nice to see you back, wow you've been busy :T
oddjobkia Happy Birthday to your DD x

Christians did take over all the pagan festivals you know ..our church was celebrating Halloween now that’s not christian,, and there are a lot more of pagan festivals that the church has taken over
    no offense intended

    None taken! :D I agree.

Hospital went okay - and they have decided there's no problem, and recall in three years. Fine by me.
I'm glad about that for you.

kaat-lady - very true that the early church built their calendar around the pagan festivals in a deliberate attempt to replace their importance. That's one reason why I have no real problem with non-Christians having a mid-winter celebration, it's a tradition that goes back much further!

Orkney - I never had a problem with Santa - St Nicholas is worth remembering I reckon! In fact, in Canterbury, there is a 'true St Nicholas society', and he always arrives (I think in green robes) on 6th December.

We've always had stockings from Father Christmas, which are always small things, including an apple and an orange in the toe every year without fail.

I second this. Orkney - I understand and wholly (or should that be Holy?) agree with what you said about the true meaning of Christmas - you only need to check out my Facebook, but somehow, we've managed to keep the two alongside - the true meaning, and the "Fairy tale" of Father Christmas. We always do stockings (and mine are 24 and 17) as well as other gifts, but we always go to Church including Christmas morning.

Actually, the best two Christmases we had were in Harlow where my parents were the Corps Officers. They did Christmas Alone, catering for 300! the first year I was an escort on the minibus, the second year I drove one, DH drove both years. We collected everyone, when they arrived it was coffee and mince pies, then dinner and pudding followed by drinks, then sandwich tea and cakes. Everyone had a gift and a goody bag with food "treats" for the next day (and possibly a bit more). In between refreshments, we had entertainment - all from volunteers. We had a Mum and Dad with 3 children all bringing their violins, flutes etc to play, a comedian, juggler, etc etc. They all came for half an hour and stayed longer just to share and socialise. It was lovely! The local market stalls donated fruit and veg, the supermarkets donated tins, packets etc and a Turkey Farm donated the birds. And a local Muslim Dellboy type donated good hard cash - and came to chat to the "guests" sharing food and drink. That is the true meaning of Christmas IMHO! :D

anyone? It's lunchtime and all I've managed to do is complete a job application form!

  • Hi AngelNikki - hope you're feeling well at the moment! have you had your appointment yet? was it this month?

Hiya Flower :hello: Hope you're well :) LOL what appointment  the one that was in september? ;) Had it :p and was diagnosed and referred back to my doc who I need to go and see when I'm up to it. I had an Occ Therapy appointment last week but I cant remember any of it now :o

I'm fine thanks, I've been worse. Lots of leg pain but DS's cheering me up with lots of singing and cuddles. :happyhear

Feeling really foggy at the moment and not able to take much in. I'm finding I'm really having to concentrate and make my brain work really hard just to feel like I'm 5% conscious. I miss not being able to just think normally and remember what I was thinking 5 seconds ago. :o I am reading all the posts but they're only going in a word at a time and not really connecting as sentences or posts :wall: so apoligies for not mentioning anything and hugs to all that need them. xxx
