    And I must phone the missing cuttelry hotline to inform them of the mass exodus of our teaspoons...

    Our teaspoons are imprisoned in a pen holder on the kitchen worktop! There is no escape :rotfl:

    She looks it - I love em when they're like that - the whole world is an adventure eh!

    Must admit, I say I wouldn't go back, but mine were lovely at that age - all the cuddles and smiles and excitement at everything...

    DD is pretty much still the same, never asks for anything, always wanting cuddles and love and still gets excited at nothing and she's 19 - just worries me as she has no 'gumption' I suppose is the word - so many dreams while at school, she was going to be a Nanny in the US and live out there for 2 years, never did it, still wants to go but not be a nanny, but no plans of how/when/why/where, etc - she's not working at the moment either, waiting for the world to give her the living it owes her...

    DS (15) on the other hand is morose, lazy and DETERMINED to do nothing - he will sit in his room for 4 hours doing nothing rather than tidy it (in 5 minutes it could be done) while popping down every 30 mins for a drink and a moan about how he had made plans and how I'm just mean... AAARRRRHHH!!! But he does have his moments and still likes a good cuddle...:D :rolleyes:

    Kids eh, who'd 'ave 'em????

  • Some of the things I meant to comment on yesterday:

    Valls I am so sorry honey. What an unpleasant thing to happen. I have no suggestions to offer either. I was completely baffled by the code/acronyms used between you and Pink yesterday ;) But it sounded like you two understood each other! :)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I have no idea what some of you were talking about yesterday. I completely believe in Father Christmas, and all Fairies :D
    My DD1 has asked me a few times whether a certain jolly, overweight gentleman, with a penchant for red attire is a genuine being, or a fantasy, created to add magic to a holiday that has lost religious meaning for many people (not all I know! Before anyone shouts at me). My response is always the same:
    "I have no idea what you're talking about!"
    So, she said to my mother,
    " I know that FC isn't real Grandma"
    My mother replied,
    "aww, do you darling, how do you feel about that?" :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
    She came back to me and relayed said conversation. My response???
    "I have no idea what you're talking about!"
    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    My line has always been that I love the magic of FC and fairies, and would hate to live in a world without that magic.
    One of my friends is a primary teacher. She had the smart mouth kid who said
    "FC isn't real, is he Miss?!"
    Cue all little faces turned expectantly and wide-eyed to teacher... her response?
    "Oh Billy, what a shame you don't believe anymore. You know, FC comes to everyone, but he has to stop when boys and girls stop believing in him. When they stop, their mummies and daddies have to start buying them their presents instead. "
    She continued....
    "I hope my children don't stop believing in FC, because my imagination isn't very good, and I don't like spending lots of money on presents" :T :rotfl: :T
    Cue lots of nodding heads form relieved children, and general murmuring 'I believe, I'm not going to stop believing etc etc'
    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    CraftyScholar How are you finding your lamp? I was thinking about mine this morning, and how gently it wakes me, even if I don't want to be woken!
    G&B I'm so relieve to hear about your LO, and glad you hear you've had a good night's sleep.
    Not sure who's son had been having fits, but I was glad to hear he's better. His residential home looks like a really nice place to be.
