Kids accepted what's happened, quite a lot of tears and a 'when can we get a new one' this isn't them accepting it really. Thanks for all the hugs, they are much appreciated xx DS2s the more animal lover, he's the one who was downstairs before crying again about Sonic.

PF you are banned from posting puppy pics because I will end up coming and stealing one!!! Little black and white one looks like it's been white and rubbed itself in a pot of black paint, but just got half way over. Terrier in the black and tan for definate, he's a wirey fella.

vivw pleased to hear your sons ok. That place looks amazing!

Kassey some of DS2s homework I end up putting a note in saying 'done his best'!

Posties, mine here isn't so good, parcels man wandered in a few times before Megan chased him, I stopped leaving the hall door closed! Other ones ok but he gets switched so often, he knows to knock on the garage if no answer and the cars there because that is where DP will be. Miss my last postlady before I moved, she was ace! She did jokingly ask me to space ebay orders as her bags were getting heavy :o but I have been good lately.

Religion, we have a lot of pagans, always have had on this thread, many have came and gone. I don't follow any religion enough to call myself anything so happily sit in the middle. I have studied many, I read a lot about paganism and decided I couldn't commit fully to it.

boddy that's really sad news for your friend, thinking of her and her Mum, must be heartbreaking knowing her Mum won't see her married.

    Tia ((hugs))

DPs been on with his garage again, he's making good progress, I have helped a bit but got cold so came in. Like I said his mess and he can just be thankful I have now let him take over the conservatory with some of it.....I win I win I win!!! He didn't help at all all day while I was tidying in here so see no reason why I should help really, might get the hint I won't do EVERYTHING!

I need to tidy the kitchen, made lasagne and a mess :o comfort food. I made 5 spare portions too.
One day I might be more organised...........

lil_me...I don't know, shall ask DD1 tomorrow and get her to bring her reading record home so she can show me what I haven't signed! They say that at 9 she's old enough now to get herself ready which is fair enough, but if I have signed it and that signing isn't good enough, or if she needs to read more and hasn't told me then I want to know.

OK - now I'm getting neurotic. Am I the only Christian on this thread?

Officially CofE, reality wise erm.... Christian with a bit of wicca thrown in here and there ;):rotfl::rotfl: I'm pretty sure "him upstairs" wouldn't approve of me using Tarot cards and the like at least thats the impression I was given when I was younger :rotfl::rotfl:

As for the puppy pics I'm not even going to look :o:o Way too tempting. :o:o

I went to the school, ( now i know what it was about:o )last year DS1 ( when he was in juniors ) was chosen for a new scheme for gifted children. All he did was go to secondary school on two occasions and do some harder work than usual. Now he's in secondary he's been chosen again based on his CAT results and teacher recommendations. There were 18 children all together and they will be doing special classes to try and stretch them more than their usual classes do. I'm quite impressed it sounds like a good scheme.

That's what DD should be doing (in year 3 going to a senior school for "stretching" lessons), only problem is that its 10am on a Saturday morning start (finishing at 4pm I think it was) and I don't drive. Looked into the buses and we'd have to leave here before 9am to get the bus, or walk it. Plus when we realised it was weekends DD wasn't very keen on giving up her only full day with me, or weekends away with Ex ;) It had absolutely nothing to do with me pointing out that she wouldn't be able to have a lie-in as we have to be up and sorted by 11am on a Sunday for ex as it is :o:o

Guess who forgot to put the wet washing in the TD  But I have done ALOT of paper shuffling for my NVQ ;) Now I just need to do the actual work! :o

I've just caught up on this week's thread... I feel like I've missed something having not seen the weekend on last weeks!

Hugs to those who need them...

Won't really be in properly this week as I'm off to Leeds for my quarterly visit to check that the boys up there actually do something (they're thrilled by the idea of a whole day of my undivided attention, obviously ;) ). I've managed to organise myself so I'm not travelling too late for a change... and they hotel service have found me somewhere with a pool so I don't have to miss out on swimming while I'm away. I'll be back late on Wednesday, and might manage to catch up on some flying while working from home on Thursday.

I saw my grandfather on Saturday and Sunday. I think he probably knows we were there to say goodbye. I'm glad I went, and I think my mum is too, however difficult her relationship with him has been. She was pretty good about her stepmother, who was her usual self-centred, tactless self - but as we keep reminding my mum, she won't have to see her again after the funeral!

My utility room is making progress - the wall came down and new window went in last week. Came back today to find the waterproof membrane down on the floor, the back wall has battens on with a layer of silver bubble-wrap over the top, and the tiles are mostly laid out on the floor. Fingers crossed that the walls and floor will be finished so I can have my WM/TD/DW & freezer back in for the weekend!

Hope you all have a happy & productive week.
