  • Boddy - that's very sad news. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Vivw - the same goes for you.

Off to feed the puppies again, but if you liked them, try these:

Jasper will be 13 in February, was picked up as a stray when he was 8 weeks old and we've had him since he was 10 weeks old. Star is from Bethlehem (in the valleys) and came to us at Christmas, hence the name. She is just 2 years old and we have had her for 2 years at Christmas! She is a very good surrogate Mum and has looked after all our foster puppies really well.

    Evening all!!

I have skimmed through some of the thread, you guys sure do talk!!

    Ugh!
So much for my good intentions I can't even find the list I posted yesterday (or thought I'd posted...)

So today I made it home early (but going in later didn't work as all I did was sit in traffic which did nothing for my temper!!!)

So my 'get organised' list today for work was

spent 15 mins in my stock cupboard, you can nearly see the floor now!!
    cleared off 1/2 my desk
    emptied my pigeon hole

And since I've been home I have

    cooked tea
    washed up
    unloaded dishwasher
    put washing in
    laid out clothes for tomorrow
made packed lunch and breky for tomorrow (porridge)
    put washing on clothes horse

and now I'm off to bed

    night all:hello:
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

  • And I've just had this email:

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

'Mister,' he said, 'I want to buy one of your puppies.'

'Well,' said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, 'These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.'

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

'I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?'

'Sure,' said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle.
    'Here, Dolly!' he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....

'I want that one,' the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, 'Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would.'

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said,

'You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.'

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

'How much?' asked the little boy.

'No charge,' answered the farmer, 'There's no charge for love.'

The world is full of people who need someone who understands .

I'm going to be really soppy now and say that there are a lot of understanding people on this thread! x

AnW'sMum sorry can't make it this weekend, 2 of them now going aswell as DP and his friend :( maybe some other time.

Gryfon, I am not wanting to seem 'paranoid' but does this teacher do this with every child? My sons school have a letter from me stating that he's not to be punished for anything I am responsible for as this makes him dislike/trust me, after similar issues at the last school before we moved it was the first thing I did.

johanne, your DH needs a kick up the backside when it comes to the beardie, they need the heat lamp installed and working properly to give the basking area and heat spread across the tank correctly that they need to feed properly and live comfortably. Tell him if he won't take care of it properly inc providing what it needs, give a rescue a call who will look after and rehome him if he's lost interest, TBH I'd threaten to phone them myself.

Very bizarre, I have had one of those weird evenings. I took DS1 to his appointment, came back to collect DS2 and DP, there DP was finishing off the work in the conservatory......he said 'I couldn't find something in the garage and guessed you weren't going to finish it so I can move my stuff from the garage in so I did it' haha the penny finally dropped! Anyway he's done it, he's moved the stuff into the conservatory and is now rearranging his garage...progress. Argh back in a mo child up.
One day I might be more organised...........
