Hi everyone, tried posting earlier but computer / internet was soooo slow! Just popping in quickly to say I've done washing which is now drying, been to buy thermals and a new duvet, and taken 2 bags of stuff to the charity shop.

Off to football now - if I'm not back on this evening, please send someone to Fratton Park with an ice pick and de-icer to unfreeze me!!!!

Well today was my 'support the shops' shopping day, all not exactly local, good 5/6 miles away but all small businesses I have used for years. Pet shop for the pet supplies and to let her know about Sonic :( hardware shop which sells all kinds for a poop shovel (coal one but they work well), bin sacks, washingup liquid, a pair of scissors, some screws and a pack of plastic pots.....butchers on the high street for the things I like from there that was £8. Then off to the 2 farm shops, one just does spuds and eggs so that was £8.75 for tray of eggs and sack of spuds, then the next my fave farm shop butchers for his pork and leak sausages, some golden ones too, home cured back bacon, 4 rump steaks :o couldn't resist 2 for us and 2 smaller ones for the boys and that little lot came to £10. Oh I got the form to put my Xmas order in too, DS2 played with the farm dog for a little while as usual (he always thinks she's fell over but she just wants her tummy tickled lol) and met the new farm pup, she's lovely! I need to get my plan together and find out when we are going where.....his flippin mothers back this time I think.....I might have to be anti traditional and get chicken and beef instead of turkey this year.Oh I went to a charity shop and got 3 books for DP and a Delia Christmas book for me :D I haven't got a Christmas one so thought I would treat myself. Only problem now is very little left from my grocery budget :o

Have had the must have egg sandwich I always make when I have just got fresh eggs nomnomnom, WM/TD done, DW filled and on, steaks for tea :D Made DPs sanwiches for today and tomorrow, he went crackers last time he was away as it was £3 for 2 sausages and an egg in a roll. Kitchen looks like a bomb site again so will tidy that then considering some baking if the boys calm down who are totally hyper today.

Back later after I have read through more than the last page to catch up, you gas bags lol
One day I might be more organised...........

  • lil-me I wondered if you could help me with your extensive knowledge -I am looking for the loops that you fit to plugs to make them easier to pull out of the socket - I can get whole new plugs with hand loops on them but i have seen (a few years ago now) smaller versions for just a couple of fingers - IYKWIM! I dont want to have to replace all my plugs with the hand versions as they are bulky and it would be expensive - I have the feeling there is a stick on finger version but havent managed to locate them.
    TIA

  • Afternoon All :hello:

Had a busy morning. I'll post an edited list shortly. Now DD1's out with a friend, DD2's watching tv, and DD3's on the computer. DH is walking the pooch, and then doing a top up shop at Lidl. We've finished all the accounts now. We've worked out what's paying what, and how much we have to live on each week etc. However, we have £40 disposable income a week (after all outgoings except clothes and occasions ) Not as horrific as I thought, but it'll be interesting changing how we spend money.

I also need an advent calendar - ideally a non chocolate nativity one - has anyone seen any around?

If you find one let me know please!!! :D I've looked everywhere in previous years, and even phoned the manufacturers! I've only seen chocolate ones.

I gave up in the end, and bought one with pouches for your own sweets. Now I use 'minstrel' type chocolates for DD1 & DD2's calendar, and sweets for milk allergic DD3!

Johanne Me too with snipping little fingers!! Henceforth I did it when my babies were asleep! ;) That was until they were old enough to keep still. HTH.

    Joke for you all:

A couple, desperate to conceive a child, went to their priest and asked him to pray for them. "I'm going on a sabbatical to Rome," he replied, "and while I'm there, I'll light a candle for you."

When the priest returned three years later, he went to the couple's house and found the wife pregnant, busily attending to two sets of twins. Elated, the priest asked her where her husband was so that he could congratulate him.

"He's gone to Rome, to blow that candle out" came the harried reply.

    :D
