  • Welcome Mummy2mygirls you will get plenty of support here

I have been to the PO, it's freezing out there

Think I have overdone it a bit, because my discomfort is coming back, so going to have a cuppa & a sit down before I do anything else. DH & I are going away this evening for a weekend in Bath (booked before my 'lump' was found!) so I need to conserve my energy:rotfl: & which weekend does my DS decide to pop home from uni, yep the one when we're not here:confused:

johanne - even the hours with your family member count as pratice and thats what its all about - could the same family member take you out a few times to get you started and refresh your memory before you start paying for proper lessons?

Nope unfortunetly it was Nickis exOH....and so he is no longer in Liverpool and doesnt own a car anymore anyway. :(

    Homealone - *huge hugs*

gryfon - gorgeous pic!! :D My mum saved cooking her Xmas pud the other day till id visisted so i could have a stir and make a wish!! Even though im 23 id get upset if she didnt!

    Welcome newbies...

    *Hugs to the sickies*

I searched for a flat for XOH with him sat next to me...:rotfl: Found one that sounded good and showed it to him when he agreed it looked good i sent his details off to the agent expressing interest!:rotfl: I dont want him to go but im calling his bluff...! I told him he can stay but he insists he wants to leave and has been looking for place so im just being kind helping him out! :p
  • Morning my lovelies :D

I've been good so far this morning, and turned a chicken carcass into chicken and veg soup, simmering in the SC till tonight. We were very good and looked at next years budget. It's the 1st time i have ever done it properly, and it is shocking how much we spend. Luckily we have a few hundred pound over the year extra to what we need and not the other way, but i know i am going to have to be careful and try and build the savings back up after my two years off in the last 3. Scary stuff when you want to do things to the house and pay into ISAs and child trust funds etc. I don't think we will be able to do it easily anyway.

toots great to hear your health news. I am sure that was the best xmas pressie for you

gandb i noticed on quidco - we can have up to 4 people in our team, so we still have a space, if i have read it correctly.

valli i wish you had been around when i had the cruddy service from MFI last year. You could have helped me write a great letter i am sure.;) black bhajis - they must think you are thick

johanne, thanks for the list - sounds a great list. I think usually they are a little older, but if its working no comment. I think i might be needing to try something for him. Although he gets things to his mouth then loses interest a bit. Other suggestions - jacket spud with cheese spread, slices of other cooked veg like courgette? If i try anything with Sam i will let you know how it goes down.
  • pigpen maybe it was your youthful looks 'grandma' was referring too and not your appearance - take it as a compliment girl!!!! LOL peaches sounds worse than Hazel - do they get on ok?
valli glad you had a good time and dont have a sore head!!!
flower hope the work goes well and AF doesnt get any worse!
AnW's MUm - thanks for the definition - I only had a vague idea of what it was - have a good day!
homealone have a hug ((((((())))) with all good wishes for a speedy recovery from your accident- the threads are great for support and as the others have said DFW would be a good one for you - IMO you are better off without an uncaring person like that. SPEAK TO THE CAB as soon as possible -they have all the info you need. let us know how you are getting on - take care and a big hug for your DS too.
Crafty that would be great if could please nag me to get organised so that I can have craft time - I am soooo looking forward to it but would feel guilty about doing anything just now with the flat in such a mess. I need to keep my vision/goal in the forefront of my mind IYSWIM!
gryfon - hope you feel better once you get going and what a lovley photo of your DD she is a real cutie-pie!!
soappie - take it easy now and no overdoing it - plenty rest!
dusty hug for you today - hope your IBS settles down quickly.
mummy2 welcome on board - congrats on the 'bump' - its a good idea to join in now and get into good routines before March. pigpen's lists are far easier to work with than the american site and they are adjustable to your own situation. The support on here is the best in the world I can vouch for that - there is always someone to help and lend a listening ear. Dont get too stressed about the mess - you have your hands full already - I am not a mum but I know from what the other mums on here say that it can be a nightmare - BABY STEPS- and post what you have done not the things you havent - no matter how small it is its an achievment. THe house didnt get in a mess overnight and you wont put it right in a day - the rooms come round evry week so what you miss will still be there for the next week. (watch out for the matching peg brigade!!!! he he he!!!!):rotfl: :rotfl:

Ooh sorry to hear some of you have snow or rain. Blowy and dry here - so much so that my towels are ALMOST dry. All windows open - beds airing (except I have to boot the cat off mine - she is basking in the sunshine). My WM tells me it will be finished in about an hour so the towels can come in and the sheets can have a blow. I love line dried sheets especially when it's blowy - they smell so fresh:D .
Done my errand so I am having a coffee then I think I will go and make the beds.

    :coffee: anyone?

    There you go...
    :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

 welcome Newbies ...as Rach said Toots usually does the meet and greet...she'll be along soon and fill you in!
ZLS - take care...don't expect too much of yourself...and the other people with whom you live can help - even littlies can put their toys away.

I am also training DS at the moment! - he is learning that if he doesn't put clothes IN the laundry basket they won't be washed - and any left on the bathroom floor are put on his bedroom floor. He is also in the process of aquiring the skill of putting DVDs CDs and game discs back in their cases. And learning to put his shoes and trainers ON the shoe rack. I relocate them to his wardrobe and he has to go back upstairs to find them:p In a bit he will latch on!:rotfl: I think that's enough for now:rotfl:

    Johanne nice one!

  • I have been trying to do this weeks flylady lists and my house has been cleaner and tidier :)

BUT can you tell me - do any of you get frustrated at your OHs lack of help? I email him the list every morning and then we have basics like dishes etc that need done.... only it seems to end up just being me doing it all and hes wipes (the already cleared) benches down at most at the moment. Its driving me nuts!!! and before anyone says "does he spend less time at home than you?" no he doesn't, if anything he is home more than me!

toots-Thanks for that sound advice. I did fret during the night then this morning an old, old friend rang and is coming round later.
I love Master bedroom day. It means I have an even better reason for staying up here! I never have much to do either so it is the easy day. DD is studying and future SIL is doing the washing today.

The thing I am going to change today is that I am going to think positive and be thankful for all the good things in my life. [/quote]
WTG poohbear I am so happy for you - good friends always seem to know when they are needed?? And it doesnt matter how long it is between visits you always feel just the same with a true friend.
And well done on the new positive outlook - it takes a while to become an automatic way of thinking but you CAN do it - even if its just stopping and thinking about things and looking for the 'bright' side before you get too negative will help. hope you have a good day!

Michelle - couldnt find it in faves yesterday but we got lots of ideas off this site and these photos. (which are so cute!!)

it doesnt work for everyone but if we had left sarah on purees she would have starved as she hated them and would refuse to even open her mouth! lol Although now approach her with a fromage frais or carrot and parsnip for example she opens wide and tries to take the spoon off you to feed herself lol

The PROPER way to deal with OHs is despatch 'em to their mums!
Failing that hun...do a daily list and put it on the fridge (or somewhere obvious)...tell him it's there and say 'these are the jobs that need to be done everyday. Which will YOU do?'
