...Oh and Xueta how many bars of soap do you have to date?

erm, confession time ... none! :o:confused:

I didn't make it into Boots 114 times either :o

In fact, I don't actually have an Advantage card ... yet!

BUT I popped into Boots at lunchtime and bought ...

a spanking brand new boxed NIKON COOLPIX 5200 (Yesss, the original one!) for £112.49 :j

Gutted I missed out on all those points/soaps though

Did you "purchase" a Nikon Coolpix 5200 camera?

If the answer is yes, then whilst there is no entitlement to a goodwill gesture, Apple have to date been willing to discuss individual cases, review the circumstances on an individual, case by case basis and in some instances have offered goodwill gestures which have varied both in monetary terms and usage.

There can never be entitlement to a goodwill gesture. Apple are offering a "goodwill gesture" because they are not admitting any fault or liability. If the issue were pressed by those who had money taken from their credit cards then I suspect Apple would have more than just goodwill gestures to pay.

What seems strange about this article is that it says (correctly) that provided Apple didn't take money from the customer then no contract existed but then it carries on to say that even if Apple had taken the money then it doesn't really matter because (they imply) Apple can do or say what they want. Clearly nonsense. If you have an issue of this nature then your local Trading Standards Officer will be more than happy to help you and there is always the small claims court. Standing behind a defence of "we're wrong but you can't afford to prove it" is simply unacceptable and I do not know why the Guardian did not add some more advice and stand up for the consumer side a little more.

Lol! I was one of the people who ordered the 5200 and ended up negotiating the 5600+SD card with a £35 discount.

Well, lookee 'ere - the 5200 on the Apple Education store, today :D
