Yes
but the picture they're showing is the OLD PS2 - I doubt if they're going to supply you with the new ones. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
I've just got back from my search for the elusive PS2.
Went to Blockbuster,Game and Currys and none of them were taking deposits anymore.
The bloke in Game said it would be JAN/FEB before they had them in.
I also went to my local Comet who said they had been told to stop taking pre orders(they had only taken 5) but they would be getting 27 in next week.
I will have to pop in ther every day next week to check i suppose

Please can we leave the topic of xbox/ps2 'chipping' out of this thread. There are plenty of other internet forums dedicated to this, but Money Savng Expert is only for legal ways of saving money.
Thanks

For a short period on Saturday night Argos had some in stock online. I ordered one, and they tried to deliver it today but I was out. Now that's what I call speedy delivery!
PC World had some available online this morning, but they didn't last long.
It might be that since companies update their stock lists online late in the day that the best time to check PCWorld/Currys etc. will be late at night/early morning.
I went into Curry's today and asked when they were getting some and was told they are taking pre-orders, but don't know when they are going to get any. The chap did say they get deliveries on a Wednesday and it may be worth checking then if they've got any in.
From the looks of things Sony has started to release these this week, so I expect that in a couple of weeks there'll be loads of these available. Who says hype and hysteria don't work?!You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
damn, wonder if game will have any instore tomorrow? worth a try. ill check0

comet.co.uk had a few thousand of the new slimline ps2's for sale this morning online but they went very fast (as you can imagine) but it may be worth checking the usual PS2 retailers websites everyday as they seem to be trickling through

I think Sony have messed up on this one. :-/
People are getting wise to these so called 'shortages' of certain toys every christmas for last few years.
It does seem like a scam to create a demand that is greater than it need have been. :-/
Many including myself have bought an Xbox instead of waiting forever. I must say that I am very impressed with the Xbox, and now believe that it is better than the PS2 in terms of graphics, gameplay, and sound. ;D
Sony have lost me as a customer, as I already have a PS1 and wanted to upgrade. My PS1 will now go on Ebay along with all the games.
Goodbye Sony ;D ;D0
