I agree - the X-Box is technically far superior to the PS2 and many of the games are miles better (nothing as good as Halo on the PS2).
Unfortunately there are many fewer games for younger children on the X-Box, and the games appear to be more expensive. For the very young (i.e. my 6 year old) there are a lot of cheap basic PS2 games, but very few X-Box ones.
So my kids are sticking with the PS2 for now.You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

I agree ;D
The Xbox is not really for younger children due to the content of some of the games. But there are people on here that have been buying GTA San Andreas on PS2 for their 9 year olds, which is irresponsible, as it's an 18 rated game with much F-words and violence.0 -
hi all you ps2 gamers. I see there are a lot of you who are going for the hype of the new slimline ps2, much better to wait ( if you and the kids can wait that is) for the ps3 which I understand will be out next year anyway. I have ps consoles for 10 years no problems with them at all, excellent game choices and plenty of them,: Gamecube, xbox , no thanks I will stick with whats tried and tested and with the best thats yet to come. Up with the ps2!You live..You learn.:)0

Hi. The main processor for the PS3 is due out next year, but will only appear in high-end IBM workstations in 2005. It's due to appear in the PS3 mid-2006, and that'll be in Japan. If we're lucky we'll see it for Christmas 2006, but I wouldn't be surprised if its more like Easter 2007 (seems ages away!). That's how it stands at the moment anyway...0 -
