PS2's in stock

I have no doubt from the amount of PS2 advertising that took place in the middle of the Man United vs Lyon game last night that there are going to be shed loads of these suddenly released onto the market just before Xmas.
Why else would Sony pay for a PS2 TV advert at hald-time, plus a massive amount of billboard advertising, if it was to plug a product which they knew they had none of?You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Thought you might like to see this from the official Playstation website for the UK:
'We are experiencing temporary shortages of the new Slimline PS2 console. These have been caused by production and shipping delays plus the overwhelming demand that we have experienced for this new machine.
At this time there is no stock of PlayStation 2. However special measures have been put in place to overcome the gap in stock, and we will be re-supplying our retailers at the beginning of December. To avoid disappointment, we will keep customers informed as stock arrives in the lead up to Christmas. Please keep checking with this website in order to receive the very latest information as it becomes available. '

The PS website sell the new console for £104 (£1.99 P&P), but are 'out of stock' at the moment.
If you just want a PS2 and aren't bothered about it being the new 'slimline' version the Playstation site has them in stock at £104 (+ £1.99 p&p) right now.

Could it be a cunning plan by Sony to get rid of the old style unit first? Create a demand just to have "a" Playstation 2 for Christmas, rather than the latest version? I can't believe they'd mess up two launches in exactly the same way.
Had a look on the France Amazon site and they seemed to be in stock the other day, can you order from them? Would they deliver to the UK?0 -
Hi,
I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago in Asda after a friend telling me she had seen them there. Another friend told me they still had acouple left on saturday. It wasn't the best deal at £129 but was better than not having one for my 12 yr old for xmas. Might be worth phoning your local Asda to see if they have any left.0 -
I've just looked at amazon.fr and you can still order the Playstation from there but on the amazon.uk site you can't order it and they say they don't expect to have it in stock until January!Could it be a cunning plan by Sony to get rid of the old style unit first? you should have got asda to price match the best deal......this offer may require the other shop to have stocks though...but worth a try.....even though you have already bought you can still go into asda and ask them to refund the difference, theyre usualy pretty good.Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60
