You were not in the wrong! This thread was from Dec 2005 and happy bunny or someone reserrected it. What you said was in context in a new topic you cannot lie about your experience! From what I read your only grievance was that no one at payplan spotted you were not really suitable and were erring caution which from what you experienced is perfectly reasonable!
DMP is a debt management plan where you hopefully suspend interest and pay back at a rate you can afford rather than minimums set by creditors.
Don't worry about anything probably bad timing on your part but your contributions are very valid and it is sometimes good to hear of others bad news (as awful as that sounds!) for other people to learn and be cautious.0 -
I wonder if any one of you please please help me maake my mind, I shaall be greatful to you lots. Unfortunately because of my personal acts and stupid decisions, I have been thrown in debts. As I was stress with cisrcumtances, in October 08 per some private debt agency help, I agreed to made my arrangements through them and started paying my creditors through them. I had been making regular payments, but only just realised that they deduct their fee for amount £35 p/month and pay rest towards my debt. I contacted Welfare Rights with that situation as my aim is to be debt free in 5 to 10 years not something like this. They advised me speak to National Debt Line, who transfered my call to Payplan.
Payplan have discussed my details with me and now I am waiting to hear from them sometime this week, But private debt agency contacted me (as I wrote them letter about joining payplan). Per them payplan will only help me for almost six months and than leave me on my own to deaal with my debts and directly with my creditors, is this true??? They also said that payplan work behalf of creditors not me, I cant see this is true per reading reviews....Please help me as I wish to pay set amount (what payplan worked for me) and wish my best to be debt free......I do not know what to do, as if I stay with private deebt agency they might keep continu with payments for almost 18 years..........I dont wish to......Please help guys....
Thanx0 -
Hi Dave and welcome to MSE!
Dump your charging DMP Company asap!! now!
Its sad but of course they will try to put you off PayPlan. They want their £35 a month which could be used to pay your creditors instead.
Go for PayPlan or CCCS, they are both there to help you, both free, and they will not just abandon you after 6 months, what a load of lies
Good luck!0 -
I agree with WorriedMart.
I'm with payplan and they are with you until either you pay off the debts or you decide to leave and go it alone!
There is someone else on here who has recently dumped her fee paying company and gone with payplan and she is very happy with her decision!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -

Thank you mates, you took bundle of presure of me;) .
One more thing please....as per payplan advise I have to open brand new basic account for getting pay wages in and direct debits for utilities, One I have is quite ok but this has overdraft (Which I can cancel, no problem!).. Per them if I join payplan, can not have any account with overdraft or any kind of such facility....What u say guys....?
THANK YOU FOR WARM WELCOME.......:T0 -
From what I've read, when you enter into a DMP, you undertake not to obtain any more credit, so this is why you can't have an overdraft.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0
