hi, has anyone else heard of a company called payplan or is using them to help with their debt? i have been using them for 2 years and need reassurance that they are ok. my life is pretty sad at the moment, i'm £60.000 in debt and struggling, i'm overdrawn and sinking deeper everyday, i'm worried sick that this is never going to end, life is just so expensive. dont know what else to try really. i could sell my flat or hand over the keys to it to pay off all my debt but that would leave me homeless. i paid payplan £1100 per month for 14 months now i can only afford £800. dont know if thats making a difference to the £60.000. i am too ashamed too tell anyone else about my debt. does anyone know whether payplan are a credible company? cheers shaun

Hi Shaun,
Sorry you feel so down.
Payplan are mentioned alot on these boards, if you do a search you will find other posts about them which will hopefully put your mind at rest. Do they not send you a monthly statement so that you can see how much is being repaid and to which creditor? If not then call them and find out why.Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Hi Shaun
My situation 12 months ago was dire £33k in debt my OH did not know until this time 12months ago. I tried everything from writing to CC companies with the help of CAB packs but this did not work.
I then phoned Payplan and I can't speak highly enough about them. I have been able to keep up the set payments though. They never made me feel an idiot for getting into such debt, they were great.
I do get the impression that they are very over worked though so sometimes difficult to get hold of a particuar person.
Hope you sort everthing out, good luck0 -

they have a good website where you can access all your details by inputting your ref no: Shows all payments and personal details0 -
Hi shaun,
Payplan are highly regarded on these boards. As they are a charity they don't take any of the money you give them for themselves, whereas all other non-charity DMP comanies can take ridiculous ammounts.
If you are struggling with the payments then I suggest you give them a ring so you can re-evaluate your finances!0 -
I'm with them and they seem fine, if a bit slow at times. You can find out your details by using Justabank on the Payplan website. That shows how much you owe, a list of all your creditors, and how much you are paying to each creditor each month. It also gives an estimated date for when you will be debt free. The only small moan I have is that they are sometimes a bit slow (but I think they are very over-worked) - I've been on a plan for 2 months and just realised before Xmas that they forgot to include one creditor, that can't get sorted out until they re-open their office next week. But people here speak highly of them. If you can't make the payments you need to discuss it with your case officer and they will try and reduce what you pay.0

Hi there
I am just setting up an IVA with Payplan and one of the things we talked about when thinking of IVA versus DMP was that each year my income/expenses will be looked at and the amount I pay would be increased or decreased (within certain parameters) depending on what my committments are. If you have been going for 14 months then ask them for a review of your payments.
Good Luck

just out of curiosity, how much are your monthly repayments on your £100k IVA with Payplan.
I am £62k in debt and considering going down IVA route with Payplan, waiting to speak to them when they are back at work after Hew Year, just want some idea of how much my repayments might be.0 -
thanks for the replies everyone and the support, its so hard to any light at the end of the tunnel at the moment.0

sorry i have to disagree with you all about payplan, i think their service is shocking! an would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
they never reply to emails return calls. and i find out last week that one creditir i am paying money to no longer exists, i'm still waiting for an explanation from payplan! additionally i send them £50 2 weeks ago, and realise that they only paid my creditors a total of £20, wheres the other £30 gone???? i'm still waiting for an explanation for that too!
i am fortunately in a position to clear all my debts and cant get any response from the addresses stated in my justabank online account, i ask payplan for help with contact numbers!!! ASK ME IF I GOT A RESPONSE???
THEY ARE USELESS. and ill tell them when they do bohther their harriss's to contact me !
from, not so happy bunny :mad:0
