  • Hi, more rooms have been added and its worthwhile checking even when the price says £55 etc, dont just look for the £10 signs
for example Uplands at High Wycombe is showing at £55 for 26th dec but when you click through and check rates, its £15!!

    Hope it helps

Has anyone else had their card charged already? My internet banking is showing that they have charged me the £10 already, but I thought you paid when you check out.

When you book, it tell you that there are some hotels you are charged directly for, you can also find the list in the terms & conditions. The one's highlighted in red below are the ones that come off your card right away.
    Here's the bit about payment:
    Payment:

All prices shown are applicable at the time of booking, are not valid in conjunction with any other offer.
The full price for each stay, with the addition of all extras incurred during your stay, are to be settled in full before departure by cash, cheque with current banker’s card, Maestro, Switch, MasterCard, Visa or American Express.
At the following Venues all promotional rate bookings are to be settled at time of booking and are non-refundable and non-transferable: Daresbury Park, Shaw Ridge, St David’s Park and Whites. At all other Venues credit/debit card details are taken only as a booking guarantee with payment taken at departure.
VAT is included at the current prevailing rate unless otherwise stated. Bookings are taken at the discretion of the individual Venue and are subject to availability. Prices may be restricted or may not apply at some of the Venues at certain times.
    Hope this helps, wee fifer

It was Daresbury park, so that's why. Thank you so much for pointing this out. Saves me phoning them up and asking about it.

  • It's worth printing off the page that says £7.50 for breakfast as I've previously stayed at a hotel that I've just booked (Bolton) and I'm sure it was more like £12.50-£15.00... they are pretty posh.
Thanks very much to OP for this great offer.

Just back from our 2-night break at Barony Castle. Had a really lovely, relaxing weekend. Apart from the fire alarm going off THREE times yesterday. I hope it was not a fellow MSEer having a crafty fag!! Unfortunately, it made having a relaxing bath somewhat difficult. I was convinced I was going to have to run round the hotel wrapped in only a tiny towel!!!

Breakfast was great. Bed v hard.
  • We went to New Place the weekend before last, it was great, the room service pizza was to die for!! Actually I was almost dying with the flu bug but didnt want to miss the weekend!! Thought the rooms were lovely

The fire alarms also went off there too, just as I had nodded off late in the afternoon!!
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
