  • Thanks OP!
Just got London on the 21st Dec for £10!
  • I think a lot of people might miss the very tiny "other rates" on the rooms that do have availability. But there also seems to be a lot of rooms that are showing as £10 but there is no availability.

It has to be said that the web site is really really lame.

The first thing is when you click on a £10 link it should show you the £10 rate not the standard rate and then expect you to click "other rates" to find the hidden £10 option. It is obvious that having entered the site by clicking a £10 date in the room finder that you want a £10 room. Clearly they either have no idea how to build a web site (evidence by the number of javascript and html errors in their page design) or they are trying to hide the rates so people will opt to pay the full rate thinking there are no discount rooms.

The second is the site should not show rooms for £10 when there are none, clearly the room finder is not updated when the rooms are sold. This at best is bad design and poor customer service and at worst could be considered bait and switch tactics that are illegal. Get customers in by offering an incentive that is not actually there when you follow the link offering you full price alternatives instead. The site should at the very least automatically remove the £10 links from the calendar when they have sold out. Otherwise people like me get well peeved with spending an hour clicking on things only to find nothing. Devere have wound me up by wasting my time.
  • I agree that there's a bug here in that it sometimes shows a higher rate and you have to click on the "show all rates" to find the £10 (took me a while to discover). But overall the booking process isn't bad considering the hammering it must be getting. Better than other deals (lastminute for example) where the websites gave up completely.

Pretty good availablility too, even hours into the deal.
  • I hope no one has posted this I did check first 10,000 rooms at £10 between the end of December and the end of february. I have just booked two nights for £20 in Oxfordshire. This is fantasic buy to beat the credit crunch.

Thanks, OP. Two nights at the Barony Castle just after New Year for me and hubby.

    hi
I would like to try Barony Castle too but when I click on the link that hotel is not on the list of hotels. Can I ask - how did you manage to book this hotel?
