i think DeVere together with many of the other 'high end' hotels have realised that especially during a credit crunch a room is simply a room be it £200/night or £10/night.
and that esp given the current economic climate most will be reluctant to part with the ridiculous amount of cash amounts that these hotel companies ask for - which in my opinion is a complete rip-off!
An American freind of mine studying in the UK couldnt believe the fact that most hotels in the UK charge PER PERSON/PER NIGHT.
In America i was told you paid per room end of!
i pointed him to cheap and cheerful travelodge who charge per room - the only hotel chain in the uk which does as far as i know!0 -
Great offer, have got a room booked

That's odd.
No mention of tax here. Just £10 to pay.0 -
No tax here on my confirmation email either and don't get how VAT of £17.50 can be charged on a £10.00 room  Surely it would be £1.75
(If it is VAT they are charging here, don't know what else it could be) ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0 -
Thanks again to the OP.
I have already "filled my boots" with the £9 Travelodge offer. £10 for a DE Vere.......it defies belief!!!!!!! I wish that I had waited!!!!!!!!!
This credit crunch depression thing is really biting.
