I know I am being a pain in the !!!! here, and a know- it- all (as usual),but i would think i would be allowing at the very LEAST 3 weeks for something to arrive for christmas, and that's not even factoring in something hard to get ,and sods law they will end up using some !!!!*y carrier like citylink who will cause you to take endless days off, while claiming they have knocked on your door and you werent in (been there). I really hope your kid gets what she wantsa, but from reading stuff on here-dont rely on tesco to do this.
She did allow at least 3 weeks - she ordered on 14 November 2008.0 -

Go somewhere else then!!
You used to work for Tesco's didn't you edna? Not the online arm perhaps, but they are related I guess. Now I would never order anything online - from any online seller - that I needed in a hurry because I know how many things can go wrong. But if someone orders something from Tesco.com, Tesco (Jersey), whatever it is, is there a length of time that could pass where you would say 'Now that really is too long?'0 -

You're very welcome. Like many others you've had to put up with Unhelpful United. They're usually ruder than that though, so you got off quite lightly so far.
My take is as follows. If you need something by a certain date, don't buy it online. In your case, you saw a bargain price and gambled, which is fair enough. Hopefully the gamble will still pay off, it's probably a bit late to go elsewhere as edna suggests - there may be stuff showing as available on other sites but how long would they take to deliver?
But I would start making contingency for the prospect of your gamble failing. I would give your daughter her smaller presents and tell her that there'll be something extra special coming in the New Year. Not ideal I know, but not the end of the world, and it will give her something to look forward to long after everyone else has had their fun. But not too long I hope!
I hope Tesco make it easier for you by delivering in time. But I would mentally prepare myself if I were you for the possibility that they will not.
Good luck!0 -
er..a long winded way of saying what others have said..i was being kind-saying its the christmas month-as Martin says-christmas comes the same day every year-none of us are perfect though, but puleeze get organized a LOT earlier next year

uktim gone-uganda suddenly appeared?
Are you serious? Check my posts, I'm one of the nice guys. Furthermore, I had plenty of run-ins with uktim before he got pulled. You can check that too. Now I spend my time on these boards fighting off his pals d.edna, Dave Brooker, omen 666 and all the rest of the Rude Squad. They're like a pack of hyenas sometimes.
Anyway, tim's AE is still knocking about, but I am most definitely not him!
By the way, my post did not just rehash all the others, I did repeat my own advice from earlier about not buying online. The stuff about it being a gamble is a far more understanding position to take than that of others who browbeat the OP for not just spending more money (they even tried to make her feel bad about how her daughter would feel at Christmas if the game didn't arrive in time - that was particularly low). The rest was giving advice about how to approach it with her daughter if the worst happens - no-one else has done that.
And if my post was long-winded, it's because you have to be careful to cover your angles on these boards - there are a lot of sharks knocking about (see some of the names above).0 -

The internet-we shouldn't care TOO much.
Some people have it a a hobby, just because someone says something online doesn't mean they mean it0
