lewisjenkins wrote: »hello. not 20% off news (although this is now definately happening) but another discount of interest. don't buy all your chrimbo booze in this offer, as next monday (24th Nov) there will be 25% off all beers, wines, spirits when you buy 6. I think there is also a small voucher in the wine booklet displayed by the wines in most stores which has another 10% off when you buy 6. overall a saving of 28% (they do the percentages seperate rather than all in one) so much better than the 20% off!!!
the current booklet voucher is £5 of twelve bottles this can be used thursday or next week the 25% off will be the only offer on wine it will replace 10% off six where as Thursday you will get
10% off 6
20% off
plus an extra five pounds of every 12 bottles so slightly better of on thursday but still very good on monday0 -
would this kick in if you bought 6 x dine for £10 which included the 6 bottles of wine?0

Re the sale items being marked with permanent ink - I'm not an M&S emplyee but I think they only do the ink-marking with the "silly" reductions (eg £1 for a pair of jeans) at the end of the sale period.
I have certainly bought things twice and then taken them back using the original (expensive) receipt for the unworn version, when I have seen them reduced by £5 or £10 in a sale or promotion a few days after I have first bought them. I don't think they mind.0 -
It appears that the news embargo has been lifted, and the Financial Times was the first to report it:

Just to add further evidence: My mother-in-law works for M&S and when she was shopping she was told by her boss to put a few things back and maybe wait till Thursday.*removed by forumteam - please do not advertise in signatures*0

Hi, I was in M&S Bluewater on Tuesday 18th November getting a refund and when I asked when the M&S sale started the lady quietly told me it was on THURSDAY. I believe her as she was cautious not to let any one else hear and practically whispered it into my ear, so tomorrow morning I will be there, also I have heard from food staff that this weeks DIne in for £10 is going to be a pretty special one !!! See you all in M&S !!
 :jPost written Tuesday 18 November
What's it about?
There are very strong rumours that M&S is having a 20% off everything sale this Thursday 20 November and that on the day it'll be open longer. Having spoken to M&S its staying tight lipped, but certainly didn't to anything to dissuade these rumours.
Some rumours say a lot of the info seems to indicate it'll exclude food and electrical goods. Some say this week's Dine for £10 will be included. Some say it's also going to be online... (I'm starting to feel like I'm announcing The Stig on Top Gear!)THIS POST WILL BE UPDATED WITH ANY CONFIRMATIONS
What to do?
If you're going there on Thursday anyway then fantastic. If you'd be making a special trip, come back to this discussion on the day to see if there are any updates or use the M&S store finder to get your nearest store's number and call it to check on the day.

PS Many thanks to MoneySaver dickietruncheon below for originally spotting this offer. This post has been inserted into the top of it to put all the information in one place.[/quote]0 -
The great news is the sale is definately going ahead. The even greater news is my partner works for Marks and Spencer so we enjoy a further 20 percent off and not only that staff members who work the Thursday can take advantage of this promotion until Saturday. So in all we will get 40 percent off. Now wheres my credit card.0
