I bought it cheap from poundland but it is far too sticky and the minute i try and cut it it just goes all over the scissors. I have tried nail varnish so far and it hasn't touched it.
I need to get them sorted as they are completely unuseable.
Thanks so much for asking this question LLL I have the same problem with a pair of scissors and was wondering how to fix it! Will look forward to reading the responses!0 -
Beautiful cards on your blog :T :j :T :j
I don't think it is too early to start making Xmas cards. I wish I was in a position where I could start making mine so have less to do nearer Xmas so can enjoy the run up a bit more
It's funny you say that cause only the other day I was thinking about making some I picked up some card from papermill (do you have one of their stamp cards? they stamp it for every £10 you spend then when full you get £10 to spend instore?) and I really want to give my lace tree for the bug a whirl, but then wondered if I could heat emboss part of the pattern ... was just an idea but I would love to make up some christmas cards. I plan to make them all this year but just need some inspiration ... if I don't get any then everyone will have a lace treeRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Me too - my only solution was to buy a cheap pair of scissors and only use them for sticky cutting. HAve my boy trained to do the same now (most of the time!)0 -

I love the unicorn!
Sorry not had much of a chance to catch up on here but all of the cards are beautiful please forgive me for not mentioning them individually.
I have just had a quick go at heat embossing ... wow how cool and easy is that!! Glad I got some powders at the weekend now!!
I have 2 cards to make up and ideally they need to be done tonight but that probably won't happen as I have had to book one of our cats into the vetI am expecting the worst which isn't going well with OH being at work
I may not be around for a couple of days but hope everyone keeps well.
Melissa I really don't envy you!! hope you relax plenty before the baby arrives.
Thanks Rusty
just wanted to say thinking of you with OH away again and a poorly cat as well as all the usual stuff please pm/msn/email etc if you want me xxx0 -
Thanks Rainmac, I will certainly take you up on your offer
Hubby brought me some X-Cut scissors a few christmas's ago , They do get realy stuck up with glue and foam but clean off so easy with a bit of whitespirit or lighter fluid and have never dulled ...well worth investing in a pairIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Rusty, i want to try embossing! How hard was it??
Just read a book that said you could do it using a normal household iron so might try it that way first as would save having to buy the proper tools until I know I like it!! Will have to get a wee bit of embossing powder than i am away!0 -

Embossing is easy, I am still learning though not sure if I am doing something wrong cause one of my powders doesn't seem to be coloured! think I may just be using too hot a heat gun as I don't have a proper craft one I use OH's rework station which can heat up to 400 degrees!!! Personally I can't see how you could use an iron? but it may be possible?? my embossing powder was £1.25 for a small pot and you don't really use a lot so should last quite a while. I have a pen aswell which was £1.99 and double endedRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Well there was quite a few bits of Christmas crafty stuff in the clearance section at Hobbycrafts today, I nipped in and confess to spending just over £4 was v good! i wondered round thinking how expensive it all was compared to the online shops! The x cut guillotine was £34.99! Wow!
Also just so we all know we are not alone talking about christmas crafting...on QVC tomorrow there is an earlybird christmas special on from 2pm until 5pm I think I am recording it!0 -
I'm going awol ... Just had our !!!!!cat put to sleep. I am sat here in tears, trying to console DS and have OH in tears hundreds of miles away and I can't be there
