I have a question about glue?
What glue do you all use to glue the different pieces onto your cards?? the glue ive got is making it go all wrinkly when its dry and makes it look even worse than it is.
    Also glue for embellishments??

For toppers and paper I use double sided tape wherever I can as I'm not the besst with glue

I use diamond glaze for everything else - you can use it as a glaze as well but I've found it keeps everything in place. It's not cheap but goes a really long way.

For small things like alphabet letters I use a quickie glue pen

is any one else having problems with photobucket? I have uploaded the photo but it won't let me load it to resize it. I will put it on here as it is and hope it is not too big!

anyway here is my card for the challenge:

it is for my aunty who is in hospital having a hip replacement after she fell on the ice (before Christmas:eek: ) and broke it.

Minimacka - gorgeous cards, I especially love the first one with the large butterfly (i'm a sucker for butterflies LOL)

Phunkles- do you mean paper is going wrinkly from using glue? I use double sided tape to stick papers and ribbons, and pva glue for gems.

Hels - can't wait to see what you will create with your supplies! I am also craving a crafters companion like mad but keep thinking what else I could buy with the money!

Polly - very kind of you to offer a prize as you don't have to at all, myself and I'm sure everyone else too is just joining in for the fun of it. I don't personally know anyone else that makes cards so this is just a great place to chat with like minded people!

Also lovely cards from Marg and bunbun :T
  • WOW Marg your card is lovely well done, I love the writing in the vase how did you do that? :T .

  • Great cards marg and bunbun :)

Polly - definitely agree with others, I've entered the challenge for the fun of it and because it's nice to see what others do. It's very good of you to offer prizes on top of that! I think you'll see how my cardmaking evolves (improves :o) with all the tips I'm getting from here. I made 2 cards last night that I'm really happy with, I think they're probably the best I've done yet

Phunkles - I made a card last night with lots of attachments; I used double-sided tape for the paper and ribbon, and craft PVA glue for the gems. I've never used PVA before - I bought 500ml yesterday in Hobbycraft on half-price offer at 97p. I was really happy with it as its easy to clean away any excess with a damp cotton bud without marking the card.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

I use ordinary prit stick kind of stuff for some things like card thats not going to wrinkle, is also use double sided sticky tape for thin papers and for sticking embelishments down i use pva glue as it dries clear.
  • Gemm85 - The butterfly's were a freebie attached to this months do crafts magazine, I usually buy it, it has some good ideas inside and it always comes with a free gift and for £2.50 its a good price too.

BunBun - Lovely card such nice colours.

marg I love your card, the colours are fab! I think the writing in the pot looks great and very effective. how did you do it?

phunkles I use double sided tape for most of my sticking, especially thin paper. I started off using PVA glue but like you found it made the paper all wrinkled. I tend not to use glue much as I make such a mess with it!

minimacka fab cards - you have been busy.

in case I have missed anyone out (sorry if I have) all the cards are lovely :T

Hi Minimacker, the card is coming on nicely thank you, I put it down as I ran out of ideas but going to do some more today. Unfortuantly not going to be about as much today as came down with a bad migrane last night and it is no better today.

Minimacka - thanks for the offer, I might have another go at it and see if I can figure it out. Did you end up getting the album, I don't know when I'll use it, but its gorgeous.

Marg - gorgeous card, I too love the vase, is it a stamp? I love the way you have layered the flowers with the different embellishments.

Phunkles - I use double sided tape for sticking card, paper and ribbon, you can get this really cheap in poundland or the 99p store, or sometimes The Works have it. For little bits I use PVA glue, and for anything that needs something a bit stronger I use glue dots.

Bunbun2 - lovely card, I really like the stitched borders that you've used.

ZLS1984 - hope you feel better soon.
