Ok that's better!
My nephew is Arthur known as Art and he plays rugby so I spelt out his name in little chipboard letters and added a chipboard rugby ball do add some more interest!
i really liked this one but is obviously only my 2nd attempt!0 -
Fianlly let's try the 3rd card I've ever made which was for a friend's birthday in October
I used a few bits and pieces including 2 sweet little brads I loved the star one!
Obviously I am only a beginner and it has taken me months to get these uploaded but thanks to you all for the inspiration and ideas and there will be more and I promise to try harder!!0 -
Sorry - forgot to say welcome back MaggieBob- I bet onestop are giving you loads to do!
Hehe, thanks.
They are keeping me busy, but it's wonderful and inspiring.
There's a weekly challenge run by the design team of onestop, so if anyone is looking for ideas to kick start them, swing by OneStopCraftChallenge. Plus, you get to see designs by me and Polly and all the others on the design team.In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!0 -
Plus if you look in comments on the onestopcraft challenges you get to see some of my makes too
:)
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Thanks itsmylife, abusybee and saveapenny for you advice on where to buy blank cards. :AHi
I just wanted to say 'I'm sorry' if I've caused any disruption to all you lovely cardmakers by starting a new thread and the other one being closed. I didn't do it to upset / offend anyone. As I said before it was only because you all seemed to be so good that I asked the question as a complete novice.
Once again
Sorry
Skiergirl, please don't apologise....you've done nothing wrong and the new thread gave me the courage to post. I only started making cards a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying reading the posts on this thread.
My advice (which as a newbie to cardmaking is probably rubbish) is to have a look online and in shops at cards and see what designs you like and think how/if you could make them yourself. I've bought a decent cutting mat and a scalpel for making card toppers and few pretty gems and other bits and pieces that I couldn't resist, but also used many household items like buttons on cards I've made.
I'll try to post a couple of my first cards but I'm not the most techie person so don't know if it will work.

Lovely cards everyone and so well done to the newbie cardmakers furrypig and pink-winged :T
Please don't make your piccies smaller - I like to see all the detail so I can copy ideas for my own cards:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Thanks rainmac,
I've managed to make mine a tiny bit smaller so they don't stretch the thread but I think you can still see the detail. Here are a couple of baby cards that I've made....0
