Have been talked into making wedding invitations for my brother in laws wedding.
Have worked out that I will need about 100 sheets to make invites / places cards etc.
Can anyone direct me to the cheapest place to buy 100 sheets of A4 white linen card ....... ebay seems cheapest at the minute at about £15 including delivery .... any other suggestions would be welcome.

  • Hi everyone

I'm a newbie to the site, and have just found my way to the Crafty bits. I have been Cardmaking for a while and I am just going to embark on a few Scrapbooking projects for the Kids and Grandkids. (When I can find a little space on my dining table of course..........I think you'll know what I mean. I have come to the conclusion, in my case anyway, you can't have creativity without chaos reigning behind........LOL.

Looking forward to meeting all you fellow craftaholics..........scarletslady.
  • Welcome scarletslady

I should be so lucky to have a whole table, lol. My bits and bobs are in a big plastic box that gets dragged over to the sofa. If I'm feeling really creative, it all gets spread out on the bed. :)

I will clear out my front room... I will convert the spare bedroom... one day ;)
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)
  • Hi there JB

Many thanks for the welcome to the Crafty thread.
I must be a bit further down the road than you then..........have already taken over my son's room while he is away at Uni. Also tried to convert part of the garage last year, but didn't complete, then it got too cold to go out there, so had to move all the storage boxes in again. Managed to get hold of a Melting Pot on Ebay after months of searching for one at a reasonable price, so that's the kitchen table taken care of........LOL. Chest Freezer Top in Utility Room doubles up as a brilliant work area when I work with Fantasy Film and Fibre. Told my youngest son who is at present in College that when he goes away to Uni I will probably work in his room too as there is a good light that comes in the window........LOL.

Well you have to find things to amuse yourself when you are housebound most of the time......LOL. Keeps me out of mischief anyway......scarletslady.

For invites I use this site http://www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk/ mainly because the quality is excellent and you can have it any size you like so very little or no waste at all
I also lke the invite pockets they do
If you like I will take photos of all mine and then you can see the quality of some of there stuff
If you email them with will aso send you a card/colour swatch book these are only about an inch sqaure but great to select card type and colur

Thanks saveapenny ... tried your website and works out at twice the price of the ebay seller ... also would have to pay extra postage as I live in Northern Ireland ... dont think i am going to beat the price of the ebay seller!
Thanks for offering to take photos ...... the invites I am doing are on white linen paper so wont need any swatches.
The design is going to be quite simple .... 6" square white linen card with 3" square of silver mesh in middle, then 2 1/2" square of pink mulberry on top of that, then 2 " square of the white linen card with a nice silver heart on it. (sizes very very approx).
Do you think this would be ok??
Trying to keep it simple as 30 day invites, 50 evening and 65 places cards - all need the wee layered bit!

Pinkladymel - I spotted the sale on hotdeals but so far I haven't bought anything, although the basic grey stuff looks gorgeous. Postage is a bit steep though - 3.99.

I LOVE the Basic Grey range too ;)
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain
