    Hello Caroline CT19720

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back - busy couple of days!

To do my own labels I use a combination of Word and/or Avery. In Word I go to 'Tools' drop down menu & select 'envelopes & labels' then the labels tab then 'options' to select the size of label I want. Then type in the text I want in the box provided when this is done you can either see what the whole page of labels looks like or print. (I usually print a test on plain paper first) Or you can add fancy print using word art & copy & paste to each label I'm no expert @ this & it's a bit hard to explain the detail - probably best to have a play. But if you get stuck just ask me.

Have a look at the Avery website they often offer free sample labels and you can down load their label software too. You may only be able to use this if you have microsoft word - sorry, I'm not sure if it stands alone but you could try it.

The Avery website will give you a very good idea of what labels are available if you go to a stationers to buy your labels. - Be careful if you get 'bargain' labels that they are in a size that is compatable with whatever system you use. I'm not plugging Avery by the way - it's just that I've been caught out too often trying to make things work size wise it can be frustrating & take a long time.
    Good Luck!

LJM - yeah, another K and Co addict. I ordered loads of papers for myself for xmas, (and I mean loads), and I've got loads of stickers, chipboard, tags and ribbons in the same ranges from ebay over the last few months.
Cgcockcroft - a fantastic range of cards, you really put me to shame, I am so crap at the minute at making anything. This comment really made me giggle: "card for husband's cousin- don't really know him".
Phuckles - card making/ scrapbooking is all that I spend my money on at the minute, I'm not bothered about cothes - I look like a tramp - I just want more nice papers! I am about to spend another 20 quid on stuff, oh well, there's worse stuff that I could spend my money on!

When in stuck for a card, which is most times I look though peoples blogs and other cardmaking sites and make a sketch of the layout so that i can copy it at home using my colours, ribbons and embelishments. I find its easier if i do this because i have something to work with that i have already seen looks good iuswim. :o

I've spent quite a bit of money in the past few weeks as my local Craft Central is still open to dispose of stock from other branches - and its all 49% off :D I must start to use it soon instead of just looking at it :rotfl:

Skiergirl - I was just thinking the same thing, I have just ordered some stickers and ribbons to go with some paper that I bought last week, and now I've found another range that I love.

I managed to make an exploding box card for my gran but it looks like my 5 year old made it. So now I know what I am doing I will track down some of my better card stock, well what I have left and re make it.

minimacka - know what you mean. I've often browsed through various sites for an idea or two but today I just couldn't get into the mood if you know what I mean, so I ended up decluttering a bit more and managed to add a bit more to my hoard of christmas hamper stuff. So, not totally useless day.
Found a link on the Freebie Board for some 'creative' stuff and put the link on the 'crafty for christmas 2009' thread. Some good ideas on that and one was fabric postcards that looked interesting, Maybe that'll inspire me when I have a proper look.

Now there is a typo!!:rotfl: fancy using language like that on a cardmaking thread!

Over on UKscrappers.co.uk there are always threads asking about shopping in america. There are girls on there that have coupons and all sorts so I would really recommend doing a search or posting a new thread :)

The main shop in America and the biggest craft shop in the world is called Hobby Lobby. I have never been to america but I am jealous :o

Don't forget your luggage allowance. Paper is VERY heavy and you need to weigh up how much you can get!

    Have a nice time x

Thanks for letting me know about Hobby Lobby I really want to get some goodies over there if there are bargains to be had! I just need to try and find them where i'm going!!

i must admit I rarely use UK scrappers now, I was very keen and asked to be adopted but I only had one message from my adopted expert and she never replied to me again!! I think that means I am unable to post properly on there at the moment as I am such a newbie still but will do a search and see what I can find re american craft buying

    thanks again xxx
