lovely cards CT, I agree the cupcake case looks great crimped :T

I was once watching a QVC craft programme and they gave a demonstration on bow tying but it's a bit difficult to explain without seeing it as well. I found this link which may be of interest to you, same principles really:

Thanks for the link Gemm85. Think I will have a go tomorrow and see how I get on. I'm sure it is just a case of practice makes perfect!

    Hello Everyone!

I've had a fairly grim week so far, trying to get everything done, made myself ill & so still not ready to go! Anyway, have a few minutes to post....sorry if I don't mention you all by name but I have been mightily impressed by all the pretty cards I've envied them all & it's too hard to pick a favourite. Gemma85 love the boxes too!

The link above is how to tie a neat bow using a fork if it helps. CT19720
ZLS1984 - sorry to hear your daughter's been ill - hope she is feeling much better now.
Saveapenny - a week since I posted the lace....gone so fast! Couldn't think of any other way to keep it flat. I can send more if you need it. I think I may want to 'pinch' some of the paper shoes/handbags on your photobucket if I may, when I get back, but I'm not sure how?

    Welcome to the new ladies.

I had a strong idea for the challenge card which was a bit odd & all done on the pc & its not worked as well as I expected! but if I get time tomorrow I'll tidy it up & let you see.

Thanks for the link Marg - just had a go and it is harder than it looks, but maybe that is because I am left handed. I'll keep trying, but the bows are definitely neater than and of the ones I tried to do without instructions.

Hope the next few days go smoothly before you go away. Have a fab holiday, and enjoy the sunshine.

Oh no Marg, relax and take it easy between now and when you go away, I know from experience that it isn't the end of the world if I forget something - we can either go without or buy it where we are. Take care and have a great time ;)

    fab cards everyone:T

marg hope you have a great holiday. don't make yourself too ill over the packing. I have now decided that as long as I have got the essentials and things I wouldn't be able to buy anything I forget can either be bought or I don't need it!

can I ask a question about using brads? at what stage do you put these on and how do you hide the prongs at the back? sorry if that sounds very simplistic...want to get it right!!

Thank you all for the kind comments on my cards and boxes.
The boxes are just printed out folded along the lines, stuck down and hey presto a box. (they are from the link I posted above). I'm thinking about filling the pink poodle one with pink sweets for my pink teenage hamper (thats another thread I'm in awe of wow) I did find in my granddaughters craft box a pink pom-pom for the top. The tulip one I'm thinking fill with choccies and put a mothers day peel off on the front, what do you think?

The stitched cards are a bit of an addiction, I usually do them and give them away, but I did manage to sell 10 for £1 each the other week, which paid for some more cards (plus another £16 on stuff I didn't know I needed!).

I have just finnished reading this thread from the beginning. There are so many beautiful cards, you are all very creative and talented people. Well done to all of you.:T I find it hard to come up with new ideas, I'm ok with a pattern or copying, but not very imaginative.
What looks good one day looks rubbish the next.

My new skill this week is that I can now use photobucket (thanks to Rustyflange)so I'm well chuffed.

Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely creations, and thank you for making me feel welcome.

    Happy Crafting. Karen

PS sorry for the long post.

Hi all heres my attempts at the challenge cards this week as well as a couple of others I have made. I prefer the green card for the challenge just a shame the paper creased as I stuck it down:(
Everyone's cards are lovely its interesting to see how everyone has used the sketch differently.

Dragonflew - lovely cards. I think my favourite is the green one too, the cat looks adorable (and I hate cats as I'm allergic to them).

Flourgirl - the tulip one looks perfect for a mother's day gift.

Bunbun - if I use a brad on a card then I put an insert inside which hides the backs. If you are using the brad as the inside of a flower you could fold the pins before you fix it to the card with a glue dot or something, that way you get the effect of the brad without having the pins show through. I'm sorry if this makes no sense at all. I was reading on UKscrappers the other day that some women were saying they had about 10,000 brads, I couldn't believe it.

Marg - hope you feel better soon.

I've posted some pics on the scrapbook thread of a paperbag album that I've just finished if anyone fancies a look. I wont post it on here as well as there's quite a few pics!
