thanks minimacka. I am looking forward to seeing the things you are making.
jailhousebabe fab cards. I particularly like the frog one.
hels lovely cards. I too can follow instructions but when it comes to my own ideas... I admit I use lets make cards and most of my ideas come from that. Maybe one day I will make up my own:D

Thanks for all the nice comments
I think I prefer the pram card - it's for DDs friend who's pregnant (so many babies on the way!), so a congratulations on being pregnant rather than on having the baby IYKWIM. She's not exactly over the moon about this pregnancy, so hopefully me and DD can cheer her up with this and a little 'pamper hamper'.
Love the card bunbun, it's nice to be able to have an appropriate theme.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

Hi Jailhouse,
Can you or anyone confirm what kind of wire I would need to use for this. I have a friend who is about to become an auntie in the next day or so, and would like to make one of these for her. I have lots of nice papers but no wires.
Thanks2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -

I bought mine in Hobbycraft just before xmas when DD was going to attempt some decorations with beads; I'm afraid I threw the packaging away and can't remember what thickness it is. It might have been 0.4 or .06
It came in a coil and was in the aisle with all the beads. I imagine the thickness wouldn't matter too much for this project anyway.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

I keep thinking its thursday today for some reason, then realising it isn't, which is disappointing lol0 -
Hi, Just made a couple of cards, and will post up later.
I've got into card making now, and tonight my lovely OH said that he would buy me some craft bits for my birthday in a few weeks, so a trip to hobbycraft is on the cards :j . He is adament that he wants to get me some embossing stamps, ink and embossing powder, as he has seen it done somewhere and thinks its good - we have a hot air gun already. Can anyone recommend any makes or give any advice as to what we should be getting. What colour inks/powders are best? Also I don't really have a steady hand and so was wondering how easy/difficult it is to do. I currently use outline stickers on all my cards. Also want to get some punches, again can anyone recommend good makes. Thanks - sorry for all the questions.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
wow, sounds like a great idea from your OH CT19720 - wish mine would take me to hobbycraft and offer to pay! he normally just waits in the car for me lol, although I dont tend to go very often as it can be more expensive than online shopping. I just love looking round the huge shop and seeing whats available, then looking to see if I can get it cheaper online
If you havent already got a Versamark clear ink pad then one of those would be useful as it will enable you to use all different coloured embossing powders. I use heat it up embossing powder (hobbycraft do sell this) and although I've never had any problems with it I know others do prefer different brands
You can also use coloured ink pads with clear embossing powder- but they need to be 'pigment' based ink pads and not dye based as the pigment ones take longer to dry and give you longer to get your embossing powders onto the stamped ink.
I love stamping and embossing as it gives a great effect, if you google heat embossing you can find some You tube clips which I found really helpful when I started.
hope this helps, I dont have a great deal of punches so I'll leave those comments to someone else I think!
edit: here's s link I found on you tube http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GvZEVu3HU7k0
