  • Good morning everyone:D

Wasn't going to post since I don't have anything interesting to say, but I wanted to wish ivyleaf and Rage better soon. Hope the DGKs are better too ivyleaf.

meanmarie, I'm confused:confused: (OK it doesn't take a lot:o :rotfl: ) You talk of a piece of corned beef, that will shrink, so I assume you have to cook it? I only know the stuff that either comes in a tin (which I don't bother with) or the pre-sliced stuff from the deli counter. Is it the same sort of thing? Is it just me, totally in the dark?

Anyway, WM is on, bathroom scrubbed, and another (!!!!) batch of fifteens is firming up in the fridge. Off to have a quick tidy when I finish this cuppa, visitors at lunchtime:D Not they notice too much, pot of coffee brewing and a plate of HM biscuits does it ;) Having tuna for me tonight, not sure about DH who doesn't like tuna. I couldn't believe my luck yesterday, I never get *big* bargains, but there it was in Sainsbugs, a lovely piece of tuna reduced from £3.60 to £1.80 and the sell by date was today!!!

    Bye for now, CM x

  • Morning Chums ,It's my gorgeous grandsons Danny's 18th today, and he's just been to visit.I filled him up with bacon sarnies and he's just going to pop in and see his young lady before going to college. He brought me a bunch of flowers ,bless him, and said 'I bet Granddad would have been pleased to see me today Granny' he's such a thoughtful boy, and I'm so proud of him. He's a credit to his Mum and Dad. I have a huge batch of sausage rolls to make tomorrow for his 'do' and my youngest DD is making him a couple of big chocolate birthday cakes .There will be about 40 of the family at my DDs tomorrow night and I'm really looking forward to it.
I have a big Gammon cooking in my SC today for tomorrow night as well.
At some point I shall have to whizz into Mr T's to get some odds and ends as my sis-in-law is coming tomorrow for a few days as well. This afternoon I have college as well, so its going to be non-stop today I think.
<<hugs to all who feel poorly or down >> and I hope everyone else has a smashing week-end.
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Hi churchie,

I think that this may be the sort of thing that marie is talking about.

I haven't posted much this week because dd has been at home and apart from everyday stuff not much old style has been happening here. It was great to see her and we had lots of fun but there were the usual tears when she left yesterday. :o She phoned last night while she was doing a shop in tesco and it was funny to hear her moaning about the price of cheese and how they didn't sell value stuff in quantities for one. :D

I have some leave to use up so I've taken tonight off work and I'm having a quiet day tidying the house and maybe I'll make some cards this afternoon. I have to take ds1 to the surgery to get his weekly urinalysis and bp check when he gets home from school. Tea tonight is sausage and mash with an onion gravy and then I'm looking forward to slobbing in front of the fire with a large glass of wine this evening.

Hope you all have a good day.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Hello!

Just waiting for some cakes to come out of the oven, cool down and then I can take one into the MS centre and have a cuppa with my pals. I won't be gone long as the other is for a friend and his Mum who are coming to visit this afternoon.

DD came home last night so we did have to stretch the bolognaise  oh well might help me lose a bit of weight.

Just had a leaflet through from Goodness Direct, they have a 20% off on fruit and veg boxes (typical when I am on a very restricted budget this month!)

After I had walked Penny and taken dd to the station, I popped into Aldi for some milk and found some lovely gift boxes - 3 for £2.99 and just right for some of the presents I have put by so really pleased.

Jackie - Have a lovely time tomorrow and :bdaycake:Happy Birthday to your Grandson.

Squiggley - Another one here who had cysts 7 years ago, scary but after checking it out with the dr, they went of their own accord.

Princess Pixiedust and Twink - I am wearing my bestest blue top and jeans for Aaron and Diabeties in youngsters awareness day today! Hope it goes well.

(((hugs))) to all those feeling poorly or down

    Catz x

    Afternoon all.

After congratulating myself on sticking to the meal plan, it went somewhat awry yesterday. But it wasn't my fault! Mr LW had to work yesterday evening; he was allowed to leave the office in time to be here by 18:00, but had to log into work from here straight away and run a special process. So he wasn't available to help with doing the spuds. Also, he had to be at his desk throughout, therefore couldn't take time out to eat a meal as such. So veggie sausage & mash which was planned morphed into Sausage Inna Bun, (good job I'd made bread rolls;) ) which he could eat as he worked. Job was supposed to take two hours, ended up taking three, as the support guys the other end were dragging their feet. We are supposed to be having HM pizza tonight, so back on track now.

Mr LW is on call over the weekend, so we can't go anywhere much during the days - just a quick dash to Stony Stratford for some fruit'n'veg from the market. The deal is, if he gets called, he has to be at his desk (at home) working on the problem within one hour.

Sunday evening, we're supposed to be attending a talk - it's a regular meeting of an organisation I belong to, but I've never been to the meetings before. Last month was a concert, which we attended, but that was easy, cos you just listen to the music, not have to talk to people. I'm really nervous, as I have quite severe social phobia, and I may yet bottle out. We only went to the concert because the District Manager gave me tickets as a thank you for doing (voluntary) paperwork for the organisation. Now she wants me to try to go to the meetings.     I think I understand how Sybil feels about the mums'n'tots club!!:o

Edited to add a ((((HUG)))) for Candygirl, who posted while I was still typing the main body of this post.

  • Just sniffled on after talking on the great white telephone (I always get nausea etc towards the end of 'flu it's how I know I'm getting better  ).

Candygirl :grouphug: - crying is good y'know and don't worry, there will be a time when you think of him and don't do a Gwennyth Paltrow impersonation :D Over time it will get easier to think of him and remember some things he did - remember the most embarassing thing he ever did? See, made you smile there. I'm not going to say that "time heals" - all it does is make the pain not as much. I still get upset about my Dad and he passed when I was 11 which was, ahem, 30+ years ago and as for Mum (12 years) that's still an issue. So don't think you're soft or anything and we're all here if you need a moan. Right I need to blow my nose now.....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
