Nilrem I wouldn't agree "not to worry". The purpose of the 1st email is to confirm that one "is known" to the FSCS, so I would still recommend calling them. Your post assumes the only reason she hasn't been contacted is that there is some kind of technical problem, but maybe she has dropped off the records somehow.

I was wondering about that. How expensive is running a laptop as compared to an iron or tumble drier etc.
There is no comparison in running a laptop to a Tumble dryer, for example most Tumble dryers will burn between 2500 and 3000 watts, the consumption of a computer is very small compared to heating type appliances.
3000 watts = approx 3kw units per hour @ around 16pence = about 48pence per hour, Irons are often rated around 1000watts = about 16 pence per hour.
People often notice that their PC has a power supply unit that can deliver; say 500watts and assume that is what it uses, but it is not it just means that the PSU is capable of supplying that figure if it is needed.
Leaving your PC running 24 hours for three weeks will not make make much difference to most peoples leccy bill, especially if it uses standby and you turn the monitor off when not being used.:)0 -
"Colonel Nilem sir, situation reoprt: there is nothing to report."
Thank you that man, in fact you have done such a good job I reckon you should take over the job full time, well at least until you get your golden ticket when you will be relieved (lol in more senses than one!)0 -

But if chrissy logs in to her Account and it has the initiate button it most likely that everything is normal and that the email is just 'lost'0 -

[Your logic is "if A then B", a bit like the banks said "if we expect house prices keep going up, then we can safely give 120% loans"; you need to establish the veracity of assumption A]0 -
