I completely believe that just 10,000 have been sent out. They are likely to send fewer at the start and increase the number each day, so they can reduce complaints and fix problems. Don't be suprised if they are sending 30,000 per day before the end of the month.

Sounds abit like a dodgey Chinese toy factory! ;)

I'm well aware of what they say but it's totally unsatisfactory as far as I am concerned and I'm sure they could give more useful information.

I said last night that I thought the Mail on Sunday story was true about a total of 10,000 emails in week1 partly because the total payout figure was so low - only £250 million - and partly because so few people on these sites had received their 2nd emails.

We now have confirmation of the figures from 2 sources including the horse's mouth. It would have been nice to find out what was happening from the FSCS rather than the Daily Mail.

The FSCS knew all along that there would be a very small batch in week 1 - whether to try out the system or because of cash flow problems or both remains unclear - so why were they not more honest with us .

Perhaps they are scared to tell us the truth!
  • Still no e-mail. Christmas is coming. Bills need paying. Seems we can do nothing but wait and hope. As Emily Dickinson wrote around 1860:

Hope is the thing with feathers
    That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
    And never stops at all.

She knew a thing or two about waiting. Unfortunately her hopes did not materialise. So we're luckier - we're on a promise!

    Keep the faith.

I have had 4 screwfix emils so far today!

Lol thing is that I am ATM compiling an order to their competitors Toolstation!:D
  • More information on the quantity of emails being sent out in an article in the Telegraph here ...

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/savings/3471622/Icesave-customers-start-to-receive-their-money.html

... but conflicting advice about logging on to Icesave. "the FSCS is asking customers not to log in to their account until they have a second email specifically inviting them to do so" and conversely "Customers are advised to keep viewing their account".
