Thanks for your support, guys. Was actually in floods of tears right now. Then husband happened to phone and had the timerity to suggest that I should consider myself lucky to get the money back and that wasn't I fortunate to have the luxury to wait three weeks to claim for my money. If he wasn't going out tonight I would have given him a rollocking. With any luck I will have calmed down when he gets home.
Sorry for that, folks. I always regarded myself as pretty level-headed about all this, but it suddenly got to me. Poor Nilrem and others; these feelings that this whole thing has engendered are just too, too horrible.0 -
Oh !!!!!!!!!!! Day Icesave went belly up I hardly slept and then decided there was no point stressing over things I couldn't change. Since then I have tried to be calm and patient and I am now just p!ssed off with the whole shabby affair. There have been NO problems with overloading the website. People HAVE claimed their money successfully. So why does it look like they are doing like 15 people a day. It just feels like this could go on forever at the moment and I'm starting to get really really FED UP!!!
Sorry, rant over, but how frustrated am I feeling right now?0 -

i really do believe ALL claims will be done by the end of this week (apart from the non-linked a/c ones).
I don't believe it, I've just been on the phone to FSCS and if you have the following accounts for example and use the same linked account (ie your joint current account) you will be sent a form to use and will not receive the 2nd email for the other person.
Have a joint account “easy access” non fixed saver with husband
Have an “easy access” isa for you
Have an “easy access” isa for partner
FSCS explanation was that although both users do have linked accounts the fact that it is the same one will prevent the 2nd user from transferring money. They have said that once the main account holder has transferred funds out to that account the other user will be unable to and that everyone who has accounts using the same linked account will have to fill in the form and apply by post for a cheque which may take up to 6 weeks.
Fantastic (NOT):huh:0 -
rachy we had an isa each and both got the email to put in our joint link account today. different email addresses though. I wonder if we had a different isa or if you've been given wrong info (by the look of some posts you wouldn't be the 1st)0

I am trying so hard to stay positive and calm - but, there are limits!0
