Ok, no more jesting, I got my invitation email at 09:24 this morning (yes Saturday) and have done the deed.

No gloating, just a comment that if good things happen to people as cynical and pessimistic as me, it must happen to you, hopefully soon! This group has been a great support, thanks :A

And still we wait. I've only checked my mail twice this morning. Keeping busy with other things, like trying to connect a dvd recorder through our Sky box - now if we can work that one out, anything is possible, even a week-end mail from our FSCS friends!!! :D

Sorry you've also heard nowt, but there must be better ways of keeping busy; like cleaning your driveway with a toothbrush ;)

Received 1st email but nothing since, not really worried yet as being a Kaupthinger and a subsequent attempting re-investor I become used to the almighty "WAIT/WAITING" grind, in this modern and electronic age there seems no simple system to move money easily without the eternal waiting for a backlog to clear or an unprecedented demand
a staff shortage or simple lack of care by somebody
I can say it seemed a lot simpler 52yrs ago when i first started saving on my old granny's advice ---ramble--ramble

FWIW, they have just reported on Money Box that FSCS have today confirmed they are still on track to meet the original objective that 'the vast majority of people should receive their compensation by the end of November'.
  • Not received my second email yet but "accidentally" logged in to my account and noticed that it's set up to allow me to claim (link to FSCS compensation against the account details). It's very tempting to click it and see what happens, especially when interest rates from other banks are going down and your money is sitting there earning none. I expect I'll sit here and tap my fingers though until the email arrives.:(

For the info of other "none 2nd receivers"
I have made my first email my screensaver. It's abit like an electronic "comfort blanket", a psychological crutch, which has gone someway to restoring the good relationship I once had with my laptop. ;)
