    RECEIVED TWO 2ND E-MAILS TODAY. Hurrah ,at longlast we had a joint account
    and two ISA;s one each for self and wife. Initiated claim for joint account and my ISA
    - no problems,but can't initiate claim for wifes ISA.Maybe it needs yet another 2nd
    e-mail. Big problems in trying to log in to ICESAVE, may be because so many people have received their 2nd e-mail today

    Received 2nd email 11.41am..25/11 (today ). The Claim Date for both my accounts is shown as 24/11/08..best of luck to all still waiting.

    I'm feeling somewhat uneasy as I still haven't received the 2nd email, yet I initiated the claims over an hour ago. I can also still log into my accounts yet I'm sure someone else reported that once you'd claimed that's it you can't log in again :confused:

    There appears to be an almightly balls up going on today and it doesn't look good :mad:

    Me too Chameleon. I can still log in and wonder now if me loging in has ballsed it up. It looks like a total balls up to me. I printed off the confirmations for what good they are as they only quote account number and balance, and date. No "where the money is going" or "how much I claimed" etc. I have two linked accounts and selected the right one, knowing my luck they will send it to the dead First Direct account.. Hmmmm.. poor.

  • ...i think....with all this uncertainty about second emails......and being able to claim even with no second emails........and fscs saying no more emails.....and paper claim is the only way forward...i think it would be best to ask for a paper claim form..now...rather than wait till 4 dec (the danger is that asking for paper claim..may scupper your ability to claim online)......and in the meantive over the next few days to keep checking to see if claim can be enabled.........else one has to wait till 4 dec......to ask for paper based claim........what a quagmire.......i hope banks such as hbos.....rbs.....barclays dont go under........imagine how many years it would take fscs to pay everyone........

  • Hi - despite making my claim I can still login but when I try to initiate (I have 2 account ISA & Saver) the message then says
    "Your claim has been accepted and is currently being processed. If you have any queries please contact us on 0845 605 6050"

    Not sure if this is of any help to anyone

    Well I really don't get this TBH I have just got off the phone having spoken to the FSCS and the man I spoke to assured me 100% that they have not finished sending all the 2nd emails yet and they are continuing to send them out, I asked him 3 times and each time he was adamant that anyone who had the first email and the initiate button would not have to fill in a form and that the email def would be sent between now and the 4th DEC which is the last date of sending! He did sound certain that there was not any problem.

    He said the only people who have to fill in a form were people who could not use BACS.

    Perhaps someone else would also like to give them a ring on 020 7892 7300 (select 4) so we can find out 100% otherwise we are going to be in the dark!

    I have just tried yet again the initiate the claim, but it doesn't want to play. However, it also has today's date at the bottom. So maybe tomorrow :rolleyes:
