Hearing about so much heartbreak I can only agree with other posters that life, health and happiness are by far the most important things. Infinitely precious, in fact, and all too often taken for granted until they go. Money can be replaced, these other things cannot.
But talking of "replacing money" (which Mc Minghella's crew is meant to do), and on the subject of keeping up our spirits, I have a proposal to make: if in a week's time we are still stuck without that email I am quite willing to rock up at the FSCS in person (with a web-cam attached if you like, for live transmission). I live in London, so it is feasible...;-)
It is a shame the Martin has not contacted their press office to find out why the sending of emails has appeared slow to so many people.0 -

Lets not get personal... I'd have to be a very lonely person to have to post here once I have already got my money
Take your point, but it does look like you are trying to "get personal" by that last comment. You have to understand that there are a lot of people on this thread that are very worried because of the lack of communication from the FSCS. It's fine if you're not worried, that's your prerogative, and good on you. However, I know the lack of contact and information is causing me a few sleepless nights and I'll be more than glad when it's all over.Sheryl
An Icesaver no more :T0 -

I understand all this of course I do. I'm worried as well and have had to dip much further into my overdraft than I would have wanted to do. A lot of people would have lost money, more people would be waiting for money and we would be sitting here waiting until Iceland got their act together and magically found enough money to cover the first £15500/£16000 or however much it was.
So yes you still may be waiting for money now, but you are still so much better off than you could of been.
I really do wish all of you the best of luck in getting your money as soon as possible, but especially with the unnecessary hostility that has come my way for a well justified post you won't be seeing me in this thread much.If you have not received your 2nd email please say so here even if you are 100% happy with the system, it will show how many here are still waiting if nothing else.Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0 -

But that's all academic now. All we want is to receive that blasted email and get our money back into our accounts. The fact some people achieved that almost two weeks ago is unfair to say the least. No amount of trying to rationalise the situation is going to make those of us left waiting any less angry and upset about the situation “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Good evening all!
Have been away for a couple of days and just checked in to see how everyone is getting on. Am really sad to read some of the recent posts - they certainly put a perspective on this icesave business....
(and somehow I feel a bit funny now about saying that the second email was waiting for me on my e-doorstep when I got in. What a shock! Just as I'd stopped believing it was ever going to happen, it did. Do hope Loretta'll be in touch with the rest of you over the w/e)Every rule has an exception.......:rolleyes20 -
