Rev. Sidlow McFarland - Chairman's Report - PMS Annual Report and Accounts 20070 -
The meeting was 1st Dromara
Minister - director pms - QC - director - pms - and couple of others???
A mix of people from many different congregations attended.
People were very disappointed with the PCI.
Remember - people want to hear that everything is going to be alright in the end - everyone wants hope -
we were told that really we enjoyed the "good days of pms" and although we have a problem - it was all because the Government increased the guarantee from £35k to £50k - !!!!!!!!!! We were also told that many poeple in this current economic climate have lost money - eg if you had bought a house last year - then its down in value.
I came out of the meeting thinking - that was all very positive !!!!!!!!!!!0 -
IT WILL JUST TAKE SOME CONFIDENT SAVER (WITH SOME MONEY LEFT) TO CHALLENGE THE THE PMS AND PCI IN COURTS - SOONER RATHER THAN LATER AS GB WILL NOT BE HELPING I'M AFRAID!!
I'm sure I said this somewhere earlier in this thread. Thank God (excuse the pun) someone is coming around to my way of thinking. I expect the outcome of this will be that you'll all end up getting support from no one and having to bear the losses brought about by a corrupt Ministry which will get off scot free. Good luck to you all - I really hope for a more positive outcome for you all.0 -
People have been conned - we have taken money from the elderly - pretended that it was a church savings organisation and then our directors got high and mighty with the novelty of all this money and spent it foolishly - and now the PMS AND PCI are trying to wriggle out as best they can and it makes me so sick.
Correct. A perfect synopsis. And they'll use the very Ministry they preach every Sunday to help cover up their mistakes.0 -

Yep more scriptures
Some minister has already said it has happened because it may lead to revival!
Words fail me"Our Society is one of the great successes of our Church"

I agree I phoned and was told the same Money was 100% safe.
Lent out to the congregations- in secured property
- in commercial property on which rent was paid
- I was also told my money was 100% safe
"Have you loaned money for buy to lets or development land?"
In order to find out the truth!!
As a share holder at the present time it doesn't look good for me getting my money back, unless there is a vote to treat share holders the same as those with loans. It may be less than 20K but it is still causing hardship.
Silly me!:mad:0 -
DOES ANY BODY KNOW WHO STARTED THIS OFF BACK IN 1982?
WHO GAVE THE PERMISSION TO USE PRESBYTERIAN IN ITS NAME? Because who would let their name be used if they weren't linked?
WHY WAS IT SET UP?
WHERE DID THE FIRST MONIES COME FROM TO SET IT UP?
WHO WERE THE FIRST DIRECTORS?
I'm sure someone just didn't decide one morning oh I'm going to set up a Presbyterian Mutual Society - they must have been asked by someone or some organisation or perhaps the church!0 -

Hello Greenfield,

Hello Greenfield,
Have another go at posting, sometimes they don't come out right.
Why is there so many people on here complaining sooooooo much about people who have borrowed for "buy to lets" ??? This type of investment will be generating an income which can be used to pay its loan repayments so whats the problem?
Im sure there are plenty of investors out there who have investment properties of their own!0
