I think the problem is NDG is there are a couple of trolls and a few sock puppets as well that generally just post to bait, I never put people on Ignore lists but generally ignore any obvious bait.

I was on the receiving end of one a few days ago. I just PM'd him and he apologised, some people try to be 'big and hard' on forums, if you met them in person and argued a point they would probably p*ss in their shoes, it's just the nature of forums.

I think this place does pretty well in general, especially seeing that it isn't moderated.
Some forums I go on are heavily moderated and are lifeless because of it.

I've also noticed the 'troll-like' (if not outright troll) posts on these boards lately. It's just a few posters who are relative newbies (or haven't posted very much in the past), and who think they are being clever while in reality just sounding like rather unpleasant people.

I do agree with ndg that it gets boring. :D

    stuff
Thanks very much LostinRates, I am feeling slightly embarrassed now. I started on here thinking I'd teach you lot about HPC bear stuff, quickly realised you knew as much and more than me, and then got hooked into the crap joke and thank you cycle. Now I've almost developed a personality.

If only I had one in real life.

edit: Oh and thanks to PN who with a couple of well chosen words banters to perfection. At least I think it was banter..

    Oy, off-limits remark...... :j
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

i dont agree about new people. i have found some of the most snide posts are by long standing members who seem to feel superior and right whatever the debate. and that of course either snuffs the discussion out or turns it into a useless fight

Think i would name and shame and say that if anything positive is posted you can bet carolt and !!!!!! will be there with their abrasive remarks which then of course stokes the fire of bullness.
