I love it when you guys are whithering about the DFW board...I hang out there a lot on the run club, but this place is far more interesting.
However, I think they are 'huggy' because a lot of the people on there arrive very desperate so if they were as straight as you lot are they might do something terrible!0 -
I agree, they are different boards. I think it can be over-done, though, and personally, I am allergic to the word "hun". It brings me out in the screaming hab-dabs....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Certainly not one of the friendliest places around

It probably needs moderation as you know what they say about a few bad apples.0 -

Which four? Name and shame those damn zealots....Hello.0 -
You don't have to be mad to post on House Price Forum. But it helps (hello chucky)0

This forum hold its very existence to argument. Had all you HPC and HPI folk not argued so much you'd all still be in the main housing board instead of here in the sub-board housing 'ghetto'. Without the arguments there would be no reason for this board and it'd wither on the vine. Lets face it, there are no moneysavings tips to be had here except for the trite "Don't buy a house!! There, I've saved you a fortune with that advice!"
I noticed that half of the people who get involved in the arguments have also clicked your 'thanks' button, rank hypocracy that I'm happy to engage in - hence I have clicked the button too
I guess the answer is that if you don't like the content of some of the threads then don't read them. If you feel that some posters are not worth reading then put them on 'ignore'. If you feel that you've 'outgrown' the board then it's time to move on - there are lots of other boards on here. With your 'huggy' ways, perhaps you'd feel more at home in the DFW?
Good post there Dithers!

I'm pretty 'huggy' too and a graduate of the DFW board, so it wasn't meant as a slight against you. I just remember seeing this type of thread on the DFW board appear everytime they have a spat with the Bankruptcy board members, and so it prompted me to suggest your visit there.

I don't remember !!!!!!? and Carolt having anything of interest to say, but I bow to your wider experience on this board

Thanks Pastures and DD for this information.
I'll try and clean up my act for occasional anger-venting on BTL-ers (BTL-scum ect) which I'll try to kerb.
It is a balance though and I enjoy some of the sparring, such as some of fatpig's stinging one-liners, but not when it gets really argumentative for pages and pages.0 -

I think you have hit the nail on the head we all know:
A) house prices are coming down for at least another year.
Interest rates will be following house prices down (sorry !!!!!! it's true:D he can't see me I am on ignore.:D )
C) Resession is here which is now more imortant than house prices
D) It is now cheaper to buy than rent for most (if you have a 25%+ deposit) but their is not much point buying
E) The HPC does not seem as important now, saving money and securitizing money does.
It is not really as interesting now as it is all a bit predictable (accept for this months rate drop) arguing and name calling is back..........
So what you looking at.:rotfl: .0
