So things to do are as follows....in no particular order :-

1/get all assignments completed. Have three remaining and then done until September. Would ideally like to get all these sorted by end of March at latest
2/once completed 1/ start to focus on selling bits. Should be warmer so can do some car boots too....
4/get all money owed in asap. SIL owes us 210 which needs to go on cc. havent mentioned before but when i see at weekend will say if dont pay then will have to cover interest. Make sure get catalogue money in each month (only 8/9 months to go now I think!:j woop woop)
5/sort out all bdays, easter and mothers day stuff for march/april/may. Going to have to have a think
6/have LHA benefit form if I need it in file (Plan A)
7/keep up to date with work and make sure i claim expenses (i have been bad at this since xmas not sure why??)
8/put on the required 1.5 stones. (this is harder than it sounds! I eat 3 meals a day plus cakes, biscuits and anything else I fancy AND have at least 2 supplement drinks and I still look like a stick  Its amazing how many calories I burn not doing a great deal)
9/go to lung support group. MUST do this as it will probably be worthwhile. need nagging on this one.
10/sort spreadsheets out and make sure can get cc/od/family cleared asap.

If the shared ownership house has been on the market for 18 months, surely there is some scope to knock the price down, and that would mean that the rental portion should be less too? Would certainly be worth looking into......

hypno - another carp thing on shared ownership - you can't offer. they have it valued by the "district valuer" and they go by the figure they give it. They are *sooooo* overpriced. It is stupid and is such a bad idea.

Good idea in theory though!!

    Hi babyhead

A few years ago we were in a similar position - needed to rent a house to live in but OH had lost his job so had no income. In the end my parents agreed to be guarantors for our rent, and then the LA were happy to let us have a house.

I don't know if this would work for you, but if your parents have been able and willing to put you up, might they also be able and willing to do this for you?

It is absolutely absurd that you aren't considered financially secure enough to rent, but they're happy to saddle you with a shared ownership mortgage! What are they trying to do - push you into problem debt? ?

Well done for realising it would be a bad idea. I hope you find another way to get out from under your parents' feet!

    Good luck,
    Lydia.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Thanks Lydia - Yes my parents have offered but it just makes life so complicated...
It is ludicrus! I think that is why my reaction was bad :o
Trouble is I have realised it would be bad idea but i'm still going to do it (unless Plan A comes together first!!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

I suppose it is more down to the fact the decision to go with shared ownership is not based on money. It is based on the need for our family to have a self sufficient life! And if we can be strict and save (once debt free!), buy 10% then save, buy 10% until we own it all it won't be too bad in 10 years time.

Anyway - now that im full of figures and DF dreams... I will have some tea! OMG - its monday tomorrow!!! ARGH!!
