what feedback shall I leave? combined postage

You said that he paid £2.53 for both the items to post.
You also said that he charged you £10 for both items so I am guessing that the postage rate for one item was £4.99.
TBH if they only cost £2.53 for both they must have been light items which you must have known but were still willing to pay £4.99 for one. If the seller did not have combined postage as an option and you didn't ask for it, what is your problem??
This seems to be another case of the buyer holding the seller to ransom. Just write him a quick message saying happy with items but postage was excessive and could he refund you a few quid??0 -

I did ask for it he refused. He only offers combined postage before bidding. If this is case then he should of sent the items sperately
I was willing to £5 as i didn't expect the item to be sent standard delivery. Also expected more than just a jiffy bag. Considering the price I paid for the items I didn't expect standard delivery. If both items were posted separately then you may have been waiting longer!! Time to get a life I think0 -

IMO if the seller only offered combined postage before bidding and didn't give the seller combined rates after the auction had finished then they should have been sent separately.
Me personally, I would leave neutral and mark down DSR.The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -

OP - did you email the seller before bidding on the item at all to ask a) if they did combined postage, and b) what the cost would be?
Once you bid, both you and the seller enter a legally binding contract to pay for and provide the items at the clearly stated price on the listing, or presumably whatever has been agreed before this.
So anyone who puts a bid on an item for a given price before knowing if there may be any change in said price... Looks like you got (almost) what you originally entered in to. Sure, would've been nice to get a postage discount, but unless the seller said they would and then didn't, I don't see why they deserve to be marked down at all.
I actually sell quite a few things, state clearly on my auctions that I will combine postage but to email me for prices before hand. Very rarely does anyone bother, or reply to me asking if they'd like combined postage, and I'm always tempted to ask them for the full price if they can't be bothered asking me for anything else - afaik they want things shipped seperatelyBut anyway... I actually do work out combined postage for everything anyway, and invoice them asap, but it always takes a little longer as it's generally late sunday evening by the time I have time to work anything out... But just because this guy didn't, doesn't necessarily mean he's done anything wrong.

A few thoughts (not suggesting any one as gospel):
1 - Was combined postage offered in the listing or did you ask for it before bidding. If you bid first, then he is intitled to charge the list price plus postage - you need to consider that the total cost to buy.
2- You paid for two lots of postage, so you are intitled to insist on two lots of postage. If he put both in one envelope then he has not provided what you paid for, so one lot should be refunded.
3- If you are happy overall, you could leave positive or neutral with a 1 star score for postage and comment saying "happy overall, but postage poor value - refused to combine" it will at least encourage other buuyers to ask the question.
4- If you feel that strongly, by all means leave a neg - thats what it is there for - but you should clearly explain your reason.0 -

- I won an item
- ebay emailed me to tell me i won. at the bottom of this email shows what else the seller was selling.
- I chose to bid on something ending very soon
- I Won
- contacted seller straight away and request invoice.
- seller refuses

A contract for two separate purchases. I paid for two separate items and for them to be posted separate.
I will leave negative or neutral... I think... not decided yet
Thanks for helping me make my decision.
What I'm unsure about is i can leave 2 lots of feedback but it is unfair to leave negative or neutral twice. But if everything went fine and i was happy i would of left postive for both. what do you reckon i should do?0 -
No it doesn't he still should of sent the item spearatly. And that was the reason he gave me when i asked. I only decided to bid on his other item that ended a few mintues after because of the email ebay sent me when i won. wasn't time to ask before bidding.

Think you misunderstood my comment. What I meant was that if the seller is offering combined postage in one way or another then they should have given it you. Had there been no mention of combined postage anywhere then I don't see they have to unless asked before the auction finishes. Seems like they are just being an a*!e.0
