No I wouldn't do it for the following reasons - one, surely it is against the law to damage another person's property (even if they have been right pains in the **** and completely unsociable)? Two - wouldn't know how to do it!

Not sure what I would do - I always try to make sure I have plenty of space at least at one end of the car, usually trying to park at the end of the row so that I can reverse out/drive out forward as necessary.
  • A similar thing happened to me in my own street i was blocked into a parking space by 2 work vans. after knocking on every door in my street i still hadnt found them. i was going to be late to pick the kids up from school so had to phone a friend to get them for me.
i called the police, explained the situation, they took the reg numbers and 20 mins later came out to check the situation.
they were still unable to do anything as we didnt know which house they were at so the poilce checked the vehicles thoroughly found several faults with them and gave them tickets and a producer so they had to prove all the work had been done, and a friendly little note explaining that in future they were to be curteous to other drivers.
it turned out they had been working in a street opposite mine and couldnt find a parking space so just parked behind me meaning to come out and move the van as soon as there was a spot but "FORGOT". they appologised but it serves them right i think.

No need, call the cops on the 0845 no, and the will send a traffic warden who will arrange to have them towed, its agaisnt the law to block somome in.

Lol, had to chuckle at this one. :rotfl:

Absolutely would 'bump' and have done so (well my mum did  ! lol)

Went to visit my sister (parking always an issue) and had parked on the road outside someone's house (no other cars there at the time we parked). By the time we left, two cars (obviously the two belonging to the house we'd parked outside) had completely blocked my mums car in. They were obviously watching from their window because when mum 'accidentally on purpose' bumped one of their cars 'quite' hard (:p ) they came running out !!! Nothing was said and we sat in the car laughing - there was nothing they could say as they were in the wrong ! (BTW there was plenty of room for them not to have blocked her in !)

As has been said before, there's no excuse for not being curteous to other drivers - we all pay our road tax after all (well most of us ! )

  • I'd try not to as I wouldn't want to damage my car! I'd probably knock on some front doors and ask if they belonged to anyone there first of all. However, if this failed, or if I was in a mega rush, I'd use the end of my car which already had dents in it as the 'nudging' end so I wouldn't run the risk of messing up another area!
    Trust me - I'm a scientist!!!

Would do if I had to, but bear in mind it won't do your clutch / driveshafts much good, depending.

I have this issue where my mum lives as everyone parks so close its impossible to get to her house at the end of the cul de sac - I just sit there tooting until people move their cars....god forbid if a fire engine or ambulance needed to get round as they wouldnt stand a chance!
  • Of course not, but I wouldn't be too happy with the owners of the offending vehicles.
  • I would never intentionally damage another car.

I suppose i would scream expletives for a while then get into the car through the boot.
    Then reverse it out:j
