How long do they take to send the application form by post? I filled the online form on the 6th so would have expected it to have arrived by now...
    I believe it's about 4-5 days.
  • I just got my application form today. I think I applied last Thursday, so a week in total.

I applied for a 6 month fixed rate bond with Birmingham Midshires back on the 7th, waited for the form to come through the post and, when it didn't arrive, I rang them after the 6 working days had passed. They said there was absolutely no record of my application! They've sent out the form and will honour the rate anyway but if you applied and have heard nothing and haven't chased it up, as has been said, do so because not only may they be going through backlogs or whatever, you need to make sure they even have a record of the application (unless I was a one-off!)
After posting about receiving an email to my MSE username/email from 'Money Expert' (note the use of ' '), I am now unable to post on MSE. Such is life.

In similar vein. I have an Esaver and Esaver2 with them. I want to move some of the Esaver2 into fixed rate.

Does anyone know if they're amenable to doing that directly - rather than having the pain of taking funds into my linked account and then sending them a cheque? Nothing in their FAQ except 'ring us'.

They were happy enough, just 2 months ago, to pay a matured fixed term deposit .... direct to the Esaver. But I somehow suspect they'll be a bit reluctant to reverse the procedure without a formal application (which is en route).

Have tried ringing them .... but the rest of you are tying the 'phones up!;)
No when I did it afew months ago they had a 10 day turnround even tough they had the funds in the easy access. Chuffing crazy. I don't know if they've grown up since then....
  • The 0845 situation drives me nuts !!
I pay for a package of all calls included, except 0845 so what kind of service is it to not give you a non 0845 numbre?

I pay my mortgage over the phone and my phone bill is usualy just the calls to Birmingham Midshires it takes 17 minutes to make a payment on average but has taken 45 !

This is how to crack them. Your erlier post mentioned a number 01902 325665 that just rings out. Big companies have a suite of numbers so try eiter one away or 100 away.

I tried 01902 325666 ( spooky) got straight through to the swichboard, she offerd the o845 number and I explained very politly wher she could stick it. She was ver nice and put me straight through.

When cracking 0845 numbers ring and ask for the fax number or their Micom number and change the last few digits around. It works.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice, but this thread is so old, all the super deals I had with BM have expired! 6%+ was good while it lasted though!;)
