Just rang. Recorded Msg says that they have now withdrawn the 6.6% 1yr fixed rate account.
Anyone who requested an application earlier has until 30 November to return the completed application form (they need to receive it by then so perhaps send it Special Delivery for tracking purposes).
Any idea when it was withdrawn? There is nothing to say the account is no longer available on their website and it is still possible to complete an application request.0 -
Does anyone know if the amount you specified when applying for the application form is stated on the form when it arrives. I'd like to add more money than I originally stated when I requested a form. If so, would you advise just amending the amount on the form and sending in a cheque for the full amount?0

I'm pretty sure it's not, and even if it is you are not limited to it.0

In similar vein. I have an Esaver and Esaver2 with them. I want to move some of the Esaver2 into fixed rate.
Does anyone know if they're amenable to doing that directly - rather than having the pain of taking funds into my linked account and then sending them a cheque? Nothing in their FAQ except 'ring us'.
They were happy enough, just 2 months ago, to pay a matured fixed term deposit .... direct to the Esaver. But I somehow suspect they'll be a bit reluctant to reverse the procedure without a formal application (which is en route).
Have tried ringing them .... but the rest of you are tying the 'phones up!;)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
All their fixed rate bonds seem to have been withdrawn now as there's nothing on their website0
-
yep, so they have,
but it always makes me smile how Banks/BS's don't fully tidy up,
still possible to access the app forms and sneak one or two through0 -
can you still not invest after you have filled in there form online0

I got through to them last night, I had to wait about 15 minutes on the 0845 number. I currently have an Esaver 2 account. I asked if I could open a fixed rate bond and they said no problem and they would send me out a form which should arrive in within 6 days. I then asked if I could transfer the funds from my Esaver account to this new account and was told that there is an option on the form to do just this. I asked about deadlines and was told that the account has been opened and they will accept funds into it till the end of the month.0
