Any one know of an alternative to the 0845 6022828 number for applying for a telephone account?

You could try; - 01902 325665, this goes to a particular person who may be able to help or to transfer you, I have just tried it but it is engaged, other numbers I have now don't even give a ringing tone.

If you're just getting ringing, then a message saying we're really busy, try the webpage etc followed by a click and then silence - don't worry the silence is just you holding, you haven't been cut off. stick with it!


If that really fails, then try 0845 850 0059, they can probably put you through.

Thank you for the replies. I tried all the geographical and freephone numbers on SayNoTo0870, but none worked. My home phone is not with BT and I think the 0870 charge is high. Also I would like to phone from work to try and get a fixed account while I can. I don't want to phone an 0845 number from wotk though.

Anyone know from their experience how long I would likely have to wait if I phone between 6:30pm and 8:00pm this evening?

Just tried, but he could not transfer me and did not know of an alternative number. Thanks anyway.

You can open a fixed rate over the Internet - I just did!

....or are you thinking they will pull it before you can return the form?

I was after the Access Reward Account (Issue 2).

Just rang. Recorded Msg says that they have now withdrawn the 6.6% 1yr fixed rate account.

Anyone who requested an application earlier has until 30 November to return the completed application form (they need to receive it by then so perhaps send it Special Delivery for tracking purposes).

0845 rate is not that high, but you can normally call through 18185 (register first - 18185.co.uk) to cut the cost down ...
