He will take a test happily he just wants to get out of the whole CSA and arrears thing.
he can afford £200 a month so he must have some money
you're bonkers to make a private arrangement in this situation0 -

have a test now then - you can do that without involving CSA !0 -
The arrears that have already accrued prior to 27 October cannot be cancelled by the pwc, unless she was a private client during that time.
You have stated she originally had to apply due to being on IS but that was 7 years ago. You need to find the starting point of the csa calculation (shounds like that is much later due to them not having enough to write to him) and check what her circumstances were then, ie was she a private client by that point.
In the worst case scenario, the csa will demand high amounts for the past arrears and possibly will not take account of the ongoing payments in setting those collections.0 -
How can the arrears go back 7 years? I thought they started form when they first got in contact with him that was last august he didnt know anything about it before then.0

I didn't say arrears go back 7 years, I said it looks like it is a later date. Your posts here and elsewhere suggest first contact from csa was August 2007 so that alone suggests there are some arrears that you need to find out what will happen, ie is the pwc in a position to write them off or do they go to SoS.0

Im sorry but no intellegent woman would ever be this gullible or accepting to this situation, with out proof and just her word/his fuzzy memory.0

The pwc could be being gullible here. In post 40 she will get £200pm irrespective of if he works, but it will only begin when he gets a job (post 63). PWC does not have his address, he appears to be in the process of moving too due to dismissal from Army - she has no way of finding his address or know if he is working, whereas address changes notifications are compulsory to the csa and they have other means of finding if he works.
I hope the private arrangement does work, and both parties look at the child getting to know her father.0 -
Smells fishy.0

maybe i am being really gullable i dont know to be honest i dont know what to think all i know is we are trying to make it right.
She isnt being gullable at all by accepting this situation i bet she thought all her christmas's and birthdays had come at once today. She will get a set amount each month starting from as soon as he gets a job which should be this month he has a second interview for a job and unless he really mucks it up it pretty much guuranteed so from december onwards he will be paying maintenance.
If at any point he was to stop the payments of try to lower them or anything she can contact the csa and open the claim again.
I wish people would stop thinking he's up to something, he's kind of admitted defeat and we are trying to move on and get on with our lives.
I do howver think that you are right and regardless of the fact he can remember going to this place he still doesnt remeber her so we should still ask her for a DNA test just to make sure.
She has his number now if there are any problems, but she wont have any she just seemed to be interested in the money and thats exactly what she will be getting.
It seems on here sometimes like whatever you do its wrong even when you are trying to the honerable thing.
I think we are both being very reasonable considering the circumstances0
