Oh and Gryf - which anti-inflammatory? Ibuprofen is safe in breast feeding. Indeed, it's prescribed for sympton relief of mastitis etc. Best to take any oral med straight after breast feeding.
Hope this helps.Debt free as of 01/06/13

Gryfon - I agree with that. Your pharmacist will know what is safe, but also packaging (prescription as well as over the counter) should always have the contra-indications sheet. Also, I don't know if you should be picking up off the floor on to the furniture! That's probably a bit too much bending. Can you sit/lay on a fairly firm surface (even on a blanket on the floor) with your feet up, although I realise that will be difficult with a little one (maybe make a game of it?)DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

I phoned the doctors and the nice secretary spoke to a doctor for me and called me back. Says that the things I have should be fine so I can take them. Just dosed myself up on co-codamol. It hurts just to walk around the house though so I'm not sure how I'm quite supposed to carry on doing stuff when I'm in such pain :rotfl: Don't see the other doctor till the 23rd as he's got a long waiting list, and the physio costs lots of money I don't have at the moment
Not supposed to rest bad backs now as that doesn't help, they now say that carrying on and gentle exercise is the best way to help them. Think I might find my heat pack and stick that on.
Just drives me nuts when I have everyone out of the house and the small one asleep and I can hardly do anything...grrrrrrr :mad:Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

I'd rather be watching Doodle Do than flying. I love that programme. Just to clarify.........I 'had' to watch it a lot before DD started school full time;)
Yeah Tag whatever you say! You had to watch it... I get it!! :rotfl:
We love Lazytown in our house, and Peppa Pig. I'd cheerfully watch those programmes! How's your HHC? I'm with you in spirit! But DD3 is insistent that I remain on the sofa with her!MMSSB Club Founder Member

I needed something to brighten my day.0 -
I'm taking a few minutes off from work (booking my hotel & trains for next week's trip to Leeds, so nothing too strenous!) to catch up.
Woke up this morning and actually made it out of the house in time to get to the gym... to be greeted by some VERY offensive graffiti on my next door neighbour's house. I'm not saying it isn't true  but stil... and to add insult to injury, they'd managed to MISSPELL a four letter word!
Called another neighbour when I got out of the gym, who told me she'd had fun explaining it to her 8-year-old daughter this morning... and as I'm working from home, volunteered to report it.
When I called the police (not the emergency number, obviously) they asked me why the neighbour couldn't report it ... how would I know... I was 10 miles away, but she's not usually up by then... was it directed at the neighbour... well, it was written on her walls...
Anyway, I'm sure she'll notice eventually when a. she awakes from her chemically induced sleep and goes outside b. someone calls and tells her, or c. she returns from her night-time wanderings...
I've called the council, who were aware of it by the time I called and have informed the relevant people, whoever they may be.
So hopefully it will be sorted out soon.... off to find some food, then MUST book my train tickets (how come business decisions are so easy, but deciding which train to commit to is so hard?!)
Gryphon - you definitely shouldn't be picking stuff up off the floor. Don't do anything that involves bending. Can you persuade your little one to do the picking up and bring things to you? Obviously you need to keep moving or you'll seize up, and keeping still can be very uncomfortable, but try to avoid movements that are likely to make it worse (which leaves you with the option of a little light dusting between waist and shoulder level). Hope you feel better soon.0 -

I don't see that "gentle" exercise is harmful, but I was told to do the laying flat when I had sciatica recently, but also gentle stretching so flat on back and carefully raise and lower leg. I also have spinal damage top and bottom and was told rest and exercise. Heat pack may be a good idea (I find heat best) but physio told me ice to reduce inflammation.
