Same problem i had, try refunding 1p to the buyer this unholds the money. Go into the transaction, select refund then type in 0.01 then press refund.

Very unfair way of making extra profit from their buyers, they can get stuffed in my opinion!

Thanks for this, I wasnt happy about sending out a mobile that had sold for £100 while paypal were holding onto my money for 21 days with no guarantees i'd get it after that. Refunded the buyer a penny and now the money is on its way to my bank account!!
    Thanks again:T

I did the refund and it released the funds so I could then withdraw them to my bank account. This was only yesterday though and it states 3-5 days to transfer so they're not actually in my account yet. I'm hoping it goes through with no problems.
  • I HATE PAYPAL or should i say scampal they are rubbish, and as i gave up selling a long time ago (i sell on amazon now) i find that i made the right desision (sp?). They are making it harder all the time. And I think they will lose more custom this way. If they had an alternative to paypal I would probably be a seller again, but as it is I wont bother.
edit: as an ex: I sold a game on ebay it sold I send special delivery, buyer refused to acknowledge he recieved it so payal froze my account and took whatever i had in it after that I gave up with paypal.
Need to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me :)

 if the tracking number had been entered into paypal correctly *and* it showed as delivered then you could not lose this claim. How long ago was it, do you have time to appeal or to recheck that the item showed as delivered?

I can't thank you enough for this information, I've had money pending on paypal twice now but have had accounts with both for over 3 years with over 100 positive feedback scores but now the moneys as a balance not pending.

    Thank you again

Just to confirm the money is now in my bank account so the 1p refund does work!

Thanks again to the OP for letting us in on this very useful piece of information.

Tried the 1p thing didnt work

    got this

    Issue Refund

Your refund must not exceed your available balance. If you have funds in another currency balance, you may want to consider transferring funds from other currency balances
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.
  • It looks like Paypal have closed this "loophole".

    What a joke.

I'm a regular on ebay and paypal, feedback touching 70 now.

Last year I sold a £1400 holiday on ebay, payment was by paypal and I had my money in my account within days, no issues.

How much does paypal make on holding these deposit balances or saving on overdraft interest by restricting funds ?
